If someone RL threatens you in the game what category in petitions does that go under? Just for future reference I couldn't seem to find it.

I'm not sure but I am curious how you think they can do it. Unless you have a habit of throwing personally identifiable information out in local or over vent.

So close...

They might know him in RL. Lots of people play with friends and co-workers.

Heh, tried using the Support web site to find that information and kept getting 404 errors. Anyway, isn't there an option for harassment? Try filing under "Rules and Policies", seems the best fit.

I'm pretty sure that if you know them IRL; the police would be a better idea than to file a petition. That is, if you feel the threat was sincere enough and not just hot air, like it is 99.99% of the time.

Space. It seems to go on and on forever. But then you get to the end and a gorilla starts throwing barrels at you.

If that's the case CCP is not the authority I would be looking to to solve this matter. Lol

So close...

Huh? It's far better to metagame the **** out of the situation and force a ban in-game. Satisfaction guaranteed.

Where there's a will , there's a way. Game companies always take this seriously.

CCP can't solve anything, but it does create a record of sorts, which you need if you want real world authorities to intercede.

Aww, its fake. Lol But I have a new favorite word: Choke-a-Cola.

However, I do know that a disgruntled counter strike player hunted down and stabbed a fellow player to death. What I don't know is how he got the victims information....is he a super geeky hacker that can pull out a gadget that tracks your IP and gives you gps coordinates to your house, or did the guy taunt the other over teamspeak yelling, oh yeah, why don't you bring your punk a** over to my house and say it to my face? i aint scared , I live *******, b****" etc etc.

So close...

I don't think it's serious but if someone rages with RL threats that could get them banned for a couple of days can't it?

Either partial or permanent like Ginger Magician.

Severe offences may result in an immediate ban without warning; however, warnings may be given for first time offenses, followed by account suspensions of varying degree and ultimately a permanent ban if a player:

a. Is abusive, obscene, offensive, sexually explicit, ethnically or racially offensive, or threatening to another player or an official EVE Online representative.

If not permanently there was a recent thread about this whole thing.

CCP draws the line at RL threats.
Don't do it, even jokingly, it will get you into trouble.

Rules & Policies / Harassment

If you got it in written form (ingame) it gets the opponent a 3 day ban. Be careful tho, if you wrote something remotely impolite yourself, you may get a ban too.

If you take all the sand out of the box, only the cat poo will remain.
