In my opinion the formula that made the Diablo franchise what it is, was completely gutted and replaced by a repetative and boring, money grubbing system that exploits and insults its long time and loyal fan base. Diablo will never be the same. Shame on Blizzard Entertainment!

It's not about ratting or any other thing you do in your system. It's about you can't do nothing against. CCP said that every ship has a counter ship. Every tactic has a counter tactic. Counter afk cloaking !

Cloaking is the Counter to Local as a Perfect Intel tool. Local is the counter to Cloaking.

Indeed, your ex-wife is not related to local.

Cloaking is, however. It acts as a counter to the perfect, automated intel system that is local by subverting the value of the intel that it provides. Cloaking makes it so that you never know whether that unknown name is up to no good or not. Conversely, local acts as a counter to cloaking. Even if you fit that fine module that makes you impossible to find, everyone instantly knows that you're there because local says so.

Local is a Perfect intel tool. You can tell exactly who is in system with you (and thus a threat to you). Cloaking makes local an imperfect way to tell who is a threat to you (because someone cloaked and AFK is not a threat to you, but you don't have any way to know they're AFK).

Cloaking is a perfect way to hide. Nobody has any way to find you (and thus tell that you're there). Local allows other players to see that you are in system, thus allowing them to alter their behavior to deal with your possible threat.

CCP have a big effect on alliance politics, do they?

Perfect? You mean, as in "cannot be improved upon"? You don't think that, say, if the F11 map gave you the location, ship type and fittings of other pilots that would be an improvement? I swear you've been told a million times not to exaggerate...

I'd like to see local changed to 'constellation chat' below 0.5 sec, cloak hunting dessies, and a revamp ('iteration') of the d-scanner. At least some presets, separate tabs and auto-repeat functionality.

Think of the carbon footprint of all those AFKers. Think how many logitech mice buttons are lost to d-scan. Oh my, think of the polar bears and the mice!

The problem with cloakers is you never really know if they're afk or not. I'm especially paranoid since I dedicated 90% of my wow career to stalking people out questing in prowl mode. That and the one time something decloaked off my port bow, scrambled me then cyno'd in a barbeque fleet.

In High-Sec you can't tell who's actively trying to gank you in local either and there's hundreds of them. I know it's scary Null-Sec carebear but it's called risk vs. reward and you take a risk every time you undock. I don't understand how you could call being semi-afk, casually glancing at local and farming rats only to warp off as soon as a non-blue enters "playing EVE." I think EVE would be better off without you and you should be destroyed.
