Solo Expectation

To me if a player trains up mining to the point they can fly a hulk they should have already gotten themselves into a serious corp with hauling and orcas.

And if they have done that they should not have problems with Hulkageddon, unless thier corp sucks.

This is an MMO what is with all the people who think everything should work solo?

Got Teamwork??

You underestimate the phenomenon of people who enjoy playing MMO's solo. Big smile We just want to see and bee seen, but don't really want to talk to anyone. Sadly its kinda like that IRL...foreveralone. Straight

What happened to playing this game the way any individual wants to play it, within the realities of the gameplay and other players ?
MMO does not mean "I must get married in order to enjoy this game".

Individual choice, you wish to remove it.

Sadly, people who think like this tend to die fairly often.

You can do that just fine. Other player's playing the game the way they want might just happen to blow you up.

The game works for solo and friendly play. Youre allowed to multibox. But the game will always be directed at the "multi-player" existance. Otherwise the game will become far too imbalanced (as if its not already) by trying to cater to solo and multiplayer experience.

The simple fix is by playing on more accounts. Simply put; its a Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game. Keyword multiplayer.

I play only with one friend in my corp and we field 5 hulks and an orca. We enjoy our playstyle with our alliance.

If you play alone, you limit yourself, that is true in all MMOs, even in super bear games like WoW.

Tell that to people who frown upon carebears, yet they have their own alts for everything because they can't trust anybody or want more profit for themselves Roll

That brought a smile to my dial, thank you Lol

RubyPorto : Of course, but it's each individual's choice, whether or not it's limiting, some people would rather see their point of view enforced, thus further diluting what is meant to be a sandbox where just about anything goes. Personally, I would far rather have good company as I have now, but some people are loners by choice. Their choice. You want that to be disallowed ?

Just as an example, I just got a retriever yesterday. Go me! Big smile My skittles are low so its really hard for me to fit it with anything remotely resembling a decent tank, so the name of the game is align and stay vigilant. So I'm trying to watch DSCAN and keep an eye on local, but my newfound friend is over in his channel yapping away about things going on in his life and I'm trying not to be rude so I'm trying to do two things at once. In this world, friends can get you killed. Smile

God no. But they can't expect that other people's play will not intrude on their play. You can be a loner, you just can't be alone.

Frankly, I died much more often while part of an active corp than when I'm doing my own thing. Nothing quite as much fun as being forced onto a corp roam to wave the flag, when anyone worth waving the flag at is gonna jam that flag where the sun don't shine.

Running solo I can do what I want to do, when I want to do it. Station trading yesterday, hop to low-sec for missions today, take a run into NPC null for exploration tomorrow, take a day off after that... My game time is my own, with no obligations to anyone or anything beyond my personal enjoyment.

While I may not play as part of an active corp you can't really call it single player mode either. I'm usually at some risk to PvP combat, and I'm always engaged in market PvP of some sort.

This comes up one every multiplayer game, but multiplayer means that more than one person can play it at a time, not that you need more than one person to play the game. Massive multiplayer means that there are large numbers of players that can play at one time, not that you need to be a part of a massive group to play the game.

With the increase in shiptoasting, the Report timer needs to be shortened.

Random probably stupid idea, but to promote teamwork amongst miners, what about a remote shield extending module for orca's?
