You are not playing a game obviously. You are playing a private version of 2nd Life because your real one must a shambles. You take things way too seriously....to take you seriously.

And if this is the case, have you ever even considered a game without anything resembling a miner anywhere nearby ? Hmm ?

Psychiotic is psychotic.

Whats psychotic about wanting people to not go straight to the most boring thing in the game when they start, or caring about what new players go through?

Why are vets even commenting on ships for newer players? You'll never even want to fly them! They aren't for you!

lol new mining frigs. Way to fail CCP. what a waste of dev time.

By adding an ORE ship a player flies at day one, they free up all the mining frigs/cruisers for use in more pew pew and varied roles including better tech 1 logistics/support. Seems like good use of dev time for balance.

I have friends I would like to get into the game, and I want the game to grow as a whole, so I care about what newbies go through.

Are you brain damaged or something?

There is so few new players in Eve, its best to focus on the needs of the higher levels to keep them playing. New players have tons of ships and things they can do as it is.

New mining frigates could be amazing if done properly.

Imagine a situation where a new ehp tanked mining ship acts as a lens and 5-10 new mining frigs "link up" with it in a dazzling starburst pattern. I'd envision some kind of energy beam between the frigates and the lens ship, and a much larger mining beam emanating from the central ship onto the asteroids. Yield would be proportional to the number of participants, etc. And, depending on how its set up, these frigs could have some offensive capability also, potentially giving teeth to mining ops.

Say what? Big smile

A setup of this configuration would encourage cooperation and mutli-player ops, and it would also allow newer members to play an active role in mining with their corps well before training for a hulk. This would additionally lessen the ability of ganking to effectively disrupt high sec mining ops if only one frigate could be popped off prior to Concord intervention. This type of setup would even increase pvp in game as miners would find it necessary to train combat skills.

Imagine a world where gankers have to contend with miners that can actually mine and shoot back.

Say what? Shocked

Hulks then would become a specialized, longer-term, solo option or a better choice for corps with fewer members.

Don't be so negative. Depending on where they go with the idea, even something as innocuous as a new frigate can be gamechanging.

Day 1 ore mining ship... Mining needs ships to train for beyond the Hulk. If you specialize a character in mining...you're done in 2 months ship wise...but if you are combat oriented...you literally have years of training to do.

This is not even close to being true. As an indy character I can tell you I trained no direct combat skills for years (other than max scout combat drones). Of course, now my combat skills are up there.. but do not make the noob mistake of thinking that all you have to train is a few ship flight skills to be a good miner. You have to train all the support skills as well..some of them the very same skills you train to be a better pvp pilot. You can get into a hulk in 3 months .. but you'll be no where near a perfect hulk pilot. same goes for combat by the way.

SO if there are lower tier ORE ships...
Does that mean they can abolish those racial mining bonus frigs and cruisers for something more interesting?

^^
I always thought the Retriever served as the dedicated stepping stone into the hulk (since you can train a retty in about a week), it costs about the same as a cruiser, takes only slightly longer to train into.

On that thought they should probably reduce the requirements to fly the retriever (at least drop the industry V requirement).

Also need ORE gas mining barge.

We have cute newbees that need to learn about EVE.

That said though, they grow up on a healthy diet of Rifters and blackbirds so ..

I like the idea...kinds sounds like mine xD

mine was respeccing the mining frigates into logi, the scythe and osprey too and then letting trial accounts use procurers but not retrievers

this pretty much amounts to the same thing mining wise....but the tormentor has already been respecced as a combat ship D:

lol new mining frigs. Way to fail CCP. what a waste of dev time.

I know it's a novel concept, but EVE does get new players, some of whom are unable to miraculously skip the early few hours spent mining in your first Bantam to save for a cruiser.

Ya an then they leave the noob area and meet the perminant hulkageddon ganker crew... then they quit lol

Cause that day one miner mattered so much

Hulkageddon gankers target hulks. Hence the name.

Anyone else they catch is in the wrong place at the wrong time, or is an obnoxious badpoaster who made a target of himself.

You guys are passionate about your mining ships.

May I ask, is the unhappiness I'm seeing because CCP is thinking about putting out a new miner, or because you guys would rather see changes in others ships and see this as a misuse of zots?

The people who are kvetching are either upset because they want the dev time directed elsewhere, or think that any new mining ships should be added to the other end of the ship line, because screw newbies Ugh

Anyone who cares 1 whit about newbies thinks this is a great idea tho, even if we don't like it directing them more towards the mining profession.

a capital miner with a jump drive would be pretty awesome, something for the dedicated outer rim miners to risk i mean mine in. bigger, heavier defense, better mining, a logical step up from the hulk which is pretty small really... I'd like to see a 20km long planetary harvester, capable of cutting off entire sections of a planet, and eating 100k ore asteroids for after dinner mints. Make mining interesting!

hmm dont mind me, just day dreaming over here

I always found it amusing how many want to basically remove mining because they think it is boring, never mind that a lot of us actually enjoy it. Omg.. yes i said it, i like mining.

Dont like it, dont do it. Let those of us that do like it, do it.

We wont go whine about how boring sitting in a supercap is. Promise.. well.. i wont anyway. :) Now i do enjoy the titanbridges, i soo would hate to have to fly all over so please keep them as long as i never ever have to pilot one :)
