Disappointed in The Scope lately

What happened to their serious hard hitting journalism? These recent news pieces have been little more than fluff and gossip.

Are they too cowed by the current climate of suspicion and fear in the Federation, thanks to the secret police and other dark elements in our government, to speak truth to power anymore?

Our richest heritage sites in Algintal are being exploited to the highest bidder, Jita is booming while our own economy stagnates, there are Gallente citizens still trapped on Caldari Prime because of unprogressive foreign policy decisions that some of us hoped would be reversed with Foiritan stepping down.

Why has Roden and the Senate allowed all this to continue? How can we protect our resources, protect the Intaki, recover our citizens, stimulate our economy?

What is happening with the other nation's regimes?

There are hard questions and issues out there, Scope. Get on it.

Jita is not actually booming. Quite the opposite. It doesn't look as such at first glance because it has been the center of the trade universe for a few years, ever since the Yulai gates were shifted around.

Personally, I wouldn't expect anything else from a corporation run by any Gallente.

Nothing new to see here, people.

Remember Lars Kiormen?

I guess too few people care about their ability to bring news without the complications you mentioned.

You don't need a major media corporation to tell you what to think, analyze the information and the facts for yourself.

It is a strange thing to me that you refer to the Gallente living on Caldari Prime as "trapped" there, as if they are being held hostage. Caldari Prime has had a dual population ever since the Federation attempted to assimilate it into its jurisdiction, to the point where there was an even larger Gallente population on the Caldari homeworld than Caldari. Those people are on the planet by their choice or because your government put them there.

In the days of old (like REALLY REALLY OLD, back in the days of Earth before space flight was invented) the best way for a leader of a party to secure relations with another party was to hop in bed with the other leader's daughters. We should do some of that!

You should consider alternative sources of news pilot.
