Booster for Incursions

I am looking at getting a command ship in the near future (By this I mean probably within two months or so)

I am wondering how desirable Info Warfare command ships are for incursions? I am at work so I can do the math and look at exactly the mods the boosters give boosts too but in my head it seems like it would be a great asset to a incursion fleet.

I know Info Warfare is not so much looked down at but less desired compared to other boosts. Anyhow. I hope to find out how useful this ship really is.

Thanks.

Edit to add: I am looking at the Eos so I can run three boosters not just one.

It's useless. People use either armor or shield, plus interdiction.

Goose99's reply is not entirely correct. I can't remember offhand which boosts are given in the Information Warfare category. Different FC's (Fleet Commanders) will desire different set-ups. I know boosts for Webbing and Shields are used in incursions.

If you haven't already done so join one or all of the current incursions channels:
'BTL Pub' - Shield tanking fleets.
'BTL Armor' - Armor tanking fleets.
'The Ditanian Fleet' - Armor tanking fleets.

You will find links in the MOTD's of those channels to guides and blogs that will give you much more detail on which ships and fittings to bring to incursions.

Here's the issue with the Info Warfare links in incursions. Here's a listing of the bonuses

Sensor Integrity:
Increases Sensor Strength (reduces the chance of being jammed)

Recon Operation:
Increases range of E-War modules (I don't believe this effects prop jamming modules)

Electronic Superiority:
Increases ECM strength
Increases Sensor Dampening strength
Increases Tracking Disruption strength
Increases Target Painter strength

Of those bonuses, the increases sensor strength MIGHT be helpful if you're getting jammed a lot and the TP strength might be helpful if you're having issues with painting ships, but in general the bonuses aren't that good. It might be fine as a Wing Commander just giving boosts for the heck of it, but it's not worth the effort usually.

Compare those boosts to increased resists, more RR, and less cap needed for RR that the armor/shield links give and the longer web range, faster movement with AB/MWD, and lower sig radius that the Skirmish links give (the lower sig radius is the least beneficial, but it'll still lower the incoming damage, especially for the Logis and other cruisers).

In the end, Info Warfare links are really just not that usefull, especially when you have the choice of those or any other links.

Get vulture/claymore/damnation or better tengu/loki/legion. If you want to use eos, you might as well use any bc, because info links are close to useless for incursions.

Hands down my overall favorite offgrid booster is a loki with interdiction maneuvers link and the subsystem for added boosts.

A max skilled booster can extend your 14 km fed navy web to a wopping 19.9 km range!!
This is for vanguards though :) ... it would be less a priority on the higher class sites.

An offgrid booster will always be better than an ongrid booster.

If you want to go as ongrid booster for vanguard sites then definitely get an interdiction maneuvers link.

Thanks for the details. I can deffently see why other boosters would be welcomed faster than an info booster. I was wondering about the Sensor Integrity I was under the impression that also increased lock time?

Again, thanks for the well laid out reply.

Thanks, Yeah I am looking at having him as an off grid booster, with my focus on leadership skills the DPS he would be able to put out would not be enough to make a real diffrence.
