I hate carebearing with a passion, so I'd be really bummed.

Honestly? No, no I wouldn't. Not 100% sure, but about 85% sure. I might come back, check out the latest expansion about twice a year, but that's about it.

It's the same deal as recently released Tera Online. I would play it if it was F2P. But at $15/mo, it's just not worth it. Note: I'm not saying I can't afford it, I'm saying that from a responsible consumer's point of view I can't justify throwing my money at an inferior product.

From where I'm sitting, decision-makers at CCP are their own worst enemy. The game could be very, VERY far ahead of where it is today, if they made simple, intelligent choices and made simple, intelligent modifications to the game. As it applies to EVE, I can't see myself spending money on an MMO that doesn't even have the ability to change the font or scale size. And no, I don't consider 100%-110%-125% and that's it a viable UI scaling system. I like to play on high resolution on big screen, and even at 125% it's still too damn small.

Until CCP starts fixing this very, very basic stuff that has been pretty much a standard feature for games post-2002, I don't see myself paying them for it. I'm not even talking "gankers vs miners" or the colossal failure that was Incarna. I mean very, very basic usability features.

Probably in most poor countries, in richest ones if you can't make 15$ per hour you did it all wrong.

I grew up in countries like Ecuador and Thailand. Even there, if you have an internet connection, I can pretty much guarantee you will make $15 faster.

If you play for fun, and you have 500M left over at the end of the month then you should buy PLEX.

If its a game then its wrong to compare it to work unless you work for fun also.

Indeed. I live and work in Norway, and probably make around $50 per hour. Not sure if Akirei Scytale really thought this through.

You understood it backwards. Akirei Scytale said "LESS" not "more".
If it takes less time to make 500m ISK compared to making 15$, assuming that you make at most 200m ISK per hour but probably much less, that means you make at most 7$ per hour but probably a lot less.

Ah... true. Sorry about that.

In all honesty, if CCP removed plex from the game, would you still play?

Could you find it in your heart to pay £9.99 no wait sorry 14.99e no wait i swear that e-mail said £9.99 who knows, ccp arnt sure....... Would you still play if you had to pay?

Why are you still here?

Haven't you been quitting for weeks now? For someone tired of the game, you sure aren't tired of the forums.

I mostly paid for my main account with £, but my alt accounts were paid for with PLEX. If PLEX hadn't been around I'd have just stuck with a single account, so in answer to the OP yes and no. Big smile

No. I can't, so wouldn't. I'm unemployed now. 9.99 a month is a small fortune to me. I've more time than money right now.

Spend a whole lot more time actively seeking employment.

Unless you're a felon or something, it doesn't take all that long.

At just under £10.00 per month, it would have to be a really terrible product not to be worth the money.

For me, the cost is just over that of two pints of Guinness which would take me less than an hour to drink, whereas for the same price I can play Eve pretty much 24/7 for a month.

But, each person has to decide for themselves I guess.

The better question is; if CCP removed local would you still play?

In my country we have 35% unemployment for young, > 10% for the rest.
Who is over 30 and does not know some very good politician to corrupt, will never, never, NEVER find a job.

The "welfare state jobs" are only available past 55, so those between 30 and 55 are basically as good as dead.
There's a (usually 240 days) long unemployment subsidy but then you are on your own and also lose rights to pension.

So yes, it can take all that long.

What saved me is that I learned trading in EvE.

This let me learn trading in RL.

With RL trading earnings I can self employ AND pay PLEX.

So, EvE => PLEX => RL => PLEX => EvE P

Clever solution to your problem. Kudos.
