I would really like for this to be something we have to use irl $$$ for.

Since it's only cosmetic, it shouldn't really matter to be honest. but theres always going to be one group who want something for nothing.......... You can already pay for your game without purchasing a sub, so I would see nothing wrong with micro transaction in this case since it's only cosmetic.

But naturally someone is going to kick up a fuss should this happen.

Considering CCP's financial situation(and the rest of the worlds for that matter) I think it would benefit all the players if they put up with micro transactions ONLY for cosmetic features. Afterall, if there is no CCP, there is no EVE..... until someone buys it up and starts making microtransactions for in-game advantages........which would happen should CCP not be running this game.

I thought they already said that it would be a NEX store item.

But like anything on the NEX you can sell it on the EVE market; so people who don't want to spend actual money on it can buy it for ISK off someone who did.

Ship Customisation, if/when it happens, will likely consist of:

Logos being applied to specific spots on ships.
Tinting of various areas on ships. (Possibly with patterns, like camo. Nothing user creatable.)


And nothing more. The kind of thing that can be represented by five or six (short) numbers

That way, there's minimal slowdown when people start using it.


Still would be neat though.
