Hello,
For some time i have been training to fly a sentry dominix for lvl 4 missions, but lately I have heared a lot that you should aim for Caldari and CNR or Golem if you really want to be able to do higher level missions with ease. So, should I cancel my current plans or stick with them as the difference between Caldari and Callente in terms of mission running is not that big.

Senty Domi for AFK CNR for non-AFK...not that I do missions...but that seems to be the consensus?

Machariel or Vargur are better.

Nightmare for EM weak NPCs.

Tengu is also a better choice if you're blitzing against Angel/Serp/Guristas.

Pon Farr Memorial: once every 7 years, all the carebears in high-sec must PvP or they will be temp-banned.

A shield tanked 425mm rail domi mops the floor with a CNR, or any caldari ship for that matter, in missions where the rats are weak to kinetic/thermal damage. That said, it takes an absurd amount of skill to fly one, both in terms of SP and player skill (the tracking problems of 425s necessitate a lot of manual flying and proper target selection)

Pve ships based on missiles and extensive use of target painters or drones are most annoying pve ships available.

- target painters because of their 10s cycles
- missiles because of "volley counting"
- drones, because they do what they want and sometimes you have to repeat the command 3 times... and they will still switch targets

Btw you cant really "afk" missions - except some of them, that do not agro drones or spawn new waves.

Also what has been said about mach, nm, marauders.

Drones, that do what they want, because :ccp:. Missiles you need to count when you dont want to lose volleys. And target painters you need to use to project dps of the missiles. All that in package with pathetic dps and tank, you dont really need.

I don't think people purchase and fly Rattlesnakes in missions for their speed.

I was with you right up until the tank comment. Passive shield rattlesnake is the only ship I feel comfortable missioning in with an omni tank setup, and in some missions not even needing to turn on hardeners. The rest is unfortunately so very true.

this^^

with just a T2 passive tank its almost impossible to lose one in a L4 mission, ultimate afk boat.

otherwise CNR, Golem, Vargur are good for just about anything. AC maelstrom actually does angel missions really fast, machariel is probably the fastest boat for rats that aren't EM weak, nightmare is insane against em weak rats. Tengu is also good for just about anything.

Thats the reason why im about to start flying one of course im not doing it to afk but instead tank while my other two friends chew through everything
