Day 1 report can be found here.

Day 2 Summary

Note: the original CSM summit schedule did not survive contact with the enemy, so some sessions are being shuffled around / combined / added.

Industry

Greyscale presented CCP's rough plans for revamping industrial processes in EVE. The CSM was impressed, you will too. Seriously good stuff that will make Industry both simpler and also more interesting and challenging.

Starbases

The dead horse has risen from the grave, and it looks like it will get the attention it deserves. The CSM is unanimously in favor of these getting high priority.

There was also discussion of some quick-fixes to the current starbase system that would address some real annoyances while we wait for zombie equines.

DUST & EVE

A broad discussion of the future of the link between Dust & EVE -- not just the link in terms of blowing stuff up, but also the link between the communities.

UI Session

We saw mockups of some nice general UI improvements. There was an extensive discussion of the Unified Inventory situation, and it is very clear that CCP is very focused on getting it right.

The lessons learned from this deployment and CCP's response to it are clearly being taken to heart. The rapid iteration on Unified Inventory is very encouraging.

The session ended with a discussion of better situational awareness / intel tools for both fleet members and fleet commanders.

Nullsec

This was mainly a discussion of what can be done to revitalize nullsec and provide conflict drivers.

Corp Mechanics

A broad discussion of problems with managing large corps, handling corporate griefers, workload issue for corporate managers, corp buy/sell issues, and possible CREST integration as a way to deal with a lot of repetitive operations via 3rd party solutions.

Wardecs / Crimewatch

We dove deep into of issues related to Wardecs and the upcoming changes to Crimewatch / Aggression mechanics. The new aggression mechanics are being refined and seem pretty solid, and concerns about wardecs (especially being trapped in a war) are going to be addressed. CCP also hopes to provide a better wardec UI and better information displays.

There was also an extensive discussion about tweaks to the ally system.

Launcher

We got a demo of Launcher improvements, which will make life easier. The evolution of this tool seems to be going in the right direction.

Thanks for this quick update.

Giving us brief and regular updates like this, and the snippets on twitter too, have been great.

Looking forward to the full minutes in due course, but thanks for making these efforts to keep us feeling informed as the week progresses.

Glad all is looking positive / constructive so far.

So does that mean, from now on CCP/devs will give more time to fundamental game changes to sort out bugs, even if it means they have to postpone that feature, and not release it with a given expansion?
Also does this mean they will give more attention to SiSi feedbacks?
Do they have enough use cases to test stuff that are coming in the next expansions?

after the summit is over and you all return home, how fast can the minutes be ready and released to us? Can you gives a realistic timetable?

edit: no pressure, take the time you need, I just need a date to put in my calendar.

Color me puzzled, but, weren't they supposed to be doing that already? What?

@ Seleene: Thx, that is reassuring. Let's hope CCP will hold true to it!
Will there be any kind of story telling about how this happened in the minutes? This was a major trust breaking event for many players i think. Some repair from trustful sources would be nice!

@Indahmawar Fazmarai: Exactly...

Sounds like you all had a very productive time and some fun too boot.

Keep up the great job, it really is nice to be informed of anything to do with the CSM this fast. Big smile

Giving you a date to put in the calendar is impossible at the moment, I'm afraid. Minutes take multiple hours of work to complete for each single hour of session time, so this process will take a good number of weeks to complete.

The good news is that by utilizing the recording technology that CSM7 pushed for and got to use this summit , we have a MUCH more accurate record of what was said in the meetings (and by whom). This cuts both ways though - it could speed up the minute-creation process, or it may take longer due to the fact that we're going to try to use the technology to produce better documentation than ever before.

Because we're changing up the way meetings were recorded and the way minutes will be produced, we won't know how long this will take till we roll up our sleeves and get to work once everyone's back home.

Are things like picture-in-picture for selected targets and an improved tactical HUD looking realistic as far as implementation is concerned? Or are you unable to specify? I really like the look of the UI mock-ups that were shown at Fanfest. It would be great if the UI looked like that at some point. The overview in particular really caught my eye. It would be great if its look could be improved to make it more like a futuristic target selection tool rather than a spreadsheet.

Screenshots below. I also linked them here.

Yes, thought it was tangential to the main discussion.

I agree with you about the annoyances.
