Ok here's the situation.

I am in a Jaguar (assault frigate) the tank fit is as follows.

  • Damage Control t2
  • 2x Medium shield extenders t2
  • 2x core defence purgers t2 riggs

Now the war target is in a tornado and kills me in one shot with t1 scout artillary from 60km away...
Is that even possible? my sig radios was so low, i did not have my mwd on and i was moving..

Anyone know if that tracking exploit has re-surfaced?

Thanks for your time guys, i used a Jag as i thought it would be more fun killing the tornado with that due to its low sig radius..

Thanks for the reply, but still even gong of that the war target should not have been able to 1 shot a minmatar assault frigate with large t1 guns from 60k away..

I went 1v1 with a t2 fitted zealot and that even had trouble getting my Assault frigs shields down..

The Alpha from a 1400 arty Tornado is MONSTRUOUS.

I see Tornados one-shotting ANY kind of frigates every day. Also, Meta 4 guns with Faction ammo offer you comparable performance to T2 (more or less).

If the get you with low transversal velocity, or worse, if you turn on your MWD and approach the Tornado directly, you WILL be killed in one vollety most of the time.

The tank in the frigate is irrelevant, unless you can squeeze 8 or 10K HP or the Tornado pilot is not properly skilled.

It's entirely plausible that you simply got blapped. The purgers are worthless versus alpha and your sig ratio will not actually be low with dual MSE's.

What was your angular and how fast were you actually moving.

You have the signature radius of a small moon, even if you were tightly orbitting the zealot which I presume you were at 60k tracking fit the tornado will track you. It doesn't need a full quality hit to one shot you, either.

Tornado can also choose damage type to your lowest resists while Zealot has EM/TH that are your highest resists.

im guessing you think that being at range from him was actually something on your side... it wasnt, he had a mayor advantage due to that. if you were orbiting his ass at 3km, he could never track you with artys. being at 60km from him made you maximum angular velocity, with the mwd off, so low that you might as well stand still.

you could have had a better chance to stay alive if your mwd was on, even with the sig penalty, he still couldnt track your speed. just slowly change the orbit till you get closer. also, the MWDs on AFs have a role bonus!

Don't believe the nerds in this thread, they just don't want their tracking exploit fixed...blapping someone at 60km yeah right as if that was possible without cheating. I'd say you petition this and you should probably try to escalate the ticket, as some GMs are in on this I hear.

I'm not an PvP expert or anything but the concept and effects of angular velocity and increased sig radius from shield stuffs got stomped into me pretty early.

Flying in a Jag with increased sig radius at 60KM from a Tornado with 1400's is playing to the Tornado's strength. At that distance your relative angular velocity would practically be non excistant. A one shot pop I wouldn't know about but it could be possible. Under the circumstances you wouldn't have enjoyed a long and happy life at that distance anyway.

Take it in, reflect and learn from it.

The biggest obstacle you'll encounter doing anything is yourself.
