To OP - you sir are either a troll or a genuine noob to Whiskey Space.

That information is worthless as anbandoned towers and defenses are extremely common and the only thing you can do is shoot them - which takes a L-O-N-G time and in my experience all you are doing is opening yourself up to a gank.

IF you manage to find an offline tower that has Ship or Corp Hangars still intact that would be an entirely different matter - because they quite often drop nice shiny ships or at least loot of some sort for your effort.

The towers that your alliance inhabit are still left defenseless...

I was taking an extended break from Eve when my corp mates took a vote on joining this Alliance. I have been reading with some mirth and also some trepidation the many comments and smacktalk involving Chained.

Would someone please let me know why Chained comes in for so much stick? If they are that bad an Alliance to be in then I will have to persuade my corp mates of a change. :)

Not to derail this thread, but...

Was your corp even aware when TALUN + LOST invaded Chained's capital system in March and razed 8 towers, including the alliance executor's personal tower? I ask because I've talked to other members who didn't hear a word about it as it was happening. Ironically, The Last Chancers were the only people who showed up to fight.

That is not an alliance. That is just a bunch of corps who are blue to each other.

I may well have recieved an evemail about that but as I had been away for over 8 months I probably just trashed any not specifically addressed to me. I will be definitely be hassling my corp mates into dropping out of this Alliance - after I do some research on the Alliance Killboard.

Thank you for bringing this matter to my attention.

PS - sorry for hijacking the post!

I'm going to take a sec and point out that the siege lasted over a week. Let that sink in.

Control towers once anchored can only be removed by the owning corporation or by spending the 2+ hours shooting it with a fleet. (Or a solo oracle for about 18 hours for a small tower). POS mods can only be removed by the control tower being destroyed or by the owning corporation unanchoring them.

The only reason a to destroy an abandoned small tower in a wormhole is:

a) You want it out of your hole.

b) You are really really bored.

c) Some idiot put faction guns and the like on the tower

Honestly it seem like that a lot uninhabited C1-C2 wormholes have abandoned towers. Heck I regularly see abandoned POSes in inhabited holes.

d) BUGRY is bored.
