So Ive recently made switch from mining to mission running. So far its definitely more interesting (watching paint dry is neck and neck with mining in the interesting dept though) Im currently running L3s until I skill up more to run L4s in a timely manner.

My question concerns LPs. Is it worth it to save them up to buy stuff I can use? Im currently using t2/meta4 stuff but I can already see it would take months (at least) to fit my drake with faction stuff and Im training into a Raven currently. Is it faster to spend them on stuff to sell then buy better stuff? What are the "hot sellers" from LP stores? Decent profit with moderately quick turn over? Anyone care to share their favorite money maker? :P Im currently running Caldari missions but have access to Mini as well (L3/4 for both)

Short answer for you: if you're working for a corporation that offers 5-run BPCs for Caldari Navy Ballistic Control Units, they are likely a safe bet.

Long answer: no one is going to ruin their own markets by telling you. The more people trade in "good" LP store items the lower the price goes, and suddenly those items just aren't worth as much. Staying on top of the game is a bit of a challenge, but if you want to maximize profits it's worth it. Oh, and don't forget to include the price of tags -- even ones you loot yourself -- in the final price.

Also, do run a forum search on the topic. This comes up regularly and there's some other good advice to be had here and there.

Count. After you do that, start turning your LP into isk via goods that give you a reasonable price for your LP. 1k isk for 1LP is generally considered a good deal.
That is pretty much everything folks will tell you. You know, these things work best when you are the only one doing them.
