Structure removal ship/modules/profession

There are heaps of abandoned structures throughout eve, especially in wormholes.

I already lost count of the systems where I see anchored POS without a shield, or just defense modules etc. Some are quite valuable, however with current game mechanics they will be left there forever as the only person who can un-anchor them is their owner who may not even be playing Eve anymore.

So here is an idea for a new profession: Structure removalist.

It requires:

1) A new ship. Probably in the ORE lineup similar to Orca, with ORE Industrial 5 as a requirement, as well as new Structure Removal Ships skill that affects cargo hold capacity. A large cargohold that can only contain structures.

2) A new module which allows to un-anchor abandoned structures. 'Abandoned structures' are defined as POS with no shield, and surrounding POS structures, or POS structures without a POS. A module would require a new skill, similar to salvaging/hacking/analyzing which affects the chance of un-anchoring a structure within the cycle. This module can only be fitted to the new ship

3) Rigs to increase the chance of success for 2

I know the idea of being able to un-anchor someone else's offline POS is not new, but I haven't seen one that suggest making it another profession yet.

I'd like that, a way to get all of those unsightly POSes out of the way and make some ISK while you're at it. Also I just know someone is going to come in here and say "But what if the person just left to get fuel for their POS?". My response is, if you haven't planned that far ahead that your shield goes down before you can get fuel for your POS why do you even have one?

It would not be a good thing for the market if there would be an increased influx of POS modules.

So, why not just have the sleepers attack abandoned structures? They are intelligent enough to recognize an easy target when they see one. So if your tower's shields go down, they will come, swarming.

In known space, this role could be fullfilled by the various pirate factions. Rogue drones could maybe even transform the structures into new mission sites. just think about the possibilities : )

Then at least you have to put some effort into earning your ISK, instead of just farming leftovers.

The market will balance itself out, you'll have new ships and modules that need to be bought.
You'd probably see prices for POS structures go down a little bit, but not by much as majority of them will still be blown to pieces during various wars.

I like the idea.

But instead of making new modules and ships for it, update the Tech2 Codebreaker to give the pilot the ability to unanchor abandoned / offline modules and implement a new set of hacking skills branching off the root hacking skill. Each new skill would be specific to the each type of module (e.g. Arrays, Weapons, Hangars) that could be anchored at a POS.

This, of course, would only work on modules & towers that were offline.

Why do they call an unknown system W-space or WH-space and not U-space?
