Just how many slots does a Hulk have?Blink

two low slots, 4 mid slots, 3 highs and two rig slots

this actually fits!

I've found an alternate fitting for my hulk, thanks man!

The whole miners whining about fitting for yield and tank etc...

The people aren't stupid when they choose to fit, they just know that no matter what, they can be ganked.

But this thread is about the supposed hatred going on and most the time i try to take people seriously and give them respect cause really nothing is attained from calling people names and making fun of them when they are trying to address issues.

We'd have to violate a rule for this rule to apply to begin with. All of CVA should be banned for hating everything not Amarr and using roleplaying as an excuse then!

What are we doing to prevent anybody from playing the game? Last I heard, mining is not the only thing you can do in this game.

Enough to deter an opportunistic gank? Most certainly enough to be unprofitable.

3-4 or more, depending on the situation. When they could use the same ships and the same 15 minutes to gank 2-3 Hulks instead of that single tanked Hulk, which do you think they will choose? Gank a tanked Hulk, or gank 2-3 untanked ones?

Fitting a tank on a Hulk (or any other ship that is a suigank target) is more of a dissuasive tactic than an absolute safety measure. No ship is 100% safe from suiganking, but if the suigankers have better targets than you, and they don't want you specifically dead, they will leave you alone when they see you're tanked.

It's ironic, really. You tank yourself to survive getting shot, and you end up never getting shot.

Ed: wait, this was a thread about the hate prevalent within Eve. When did it turn into a "most miners are bad at fitting" thread? OP may have a point. Stop obsessing, people.

Are those quotes your idea of "vitriol and hate"?

Not even a little. It is a little difficult to follow due to limited amount of quotes but I will try to summarize.

1. Natsett Amuinn wrote: Now, now. We can't actually expect them to do anything that would cut into the amount of ore they can hold by using slots to actually improve thier ability to not get blown up. That woudl be stupid. They have "ISK PER HOUR!!!" to consider.

We all know that CCP intended mining to be done solo. That's why they actually have support skills and ships designed specifically to improve mining in a fleet, because it's intended to be done alone.

Can't expect a miner to have someone hauling ore for them while they tank thier hulks, that would be such a waste of slots that would be better suited to filling with cargo expanders.

Common sense is a bannable offense in EVE.

2. Spikeflach wrote: Please read other threads that have people talking about this stuff, this response is kind of old and outdated.

3. Kimmi Chan wrote: And these responses, at least in your opinion, are what? You're saying they equate to "Common Sense is a bannable offense"? Or they are spewing vitriol and hate. I'm confused. If you want to make a point be clear about it.

It looks like more like individuals expressing themselves in their own way be it through sarcasm or rationalizing cause and effect. Nothing hateful or containing vitriol at all. Unless your overly sensitive in which case... Roll

Unprofitable? The additional 2-3 more T1 fit Catalysts somehow cost 50 million ISK each or something? That is one hell of a stacking penalty!

Good answer, since Roll was precisely what I was ready to do. I've seen so many people get positively indignant over the littlest **** it's not even funny.

I think that it's important to remember that the vast majority of miners that have been ganked are likely not here complaining about being ganked. They are likely playing the game and learning from their loss.

Any ship, exhumer or otherwise, despite any fitting can be ganked unless you leave it in the station. I really don't think that would be fun but it is something every player has to realize.

Complaining on forums, posting bits and pieces of an EULA or TOS, and hate on either side does not change that fact.

Rule number 1 is particularly interesting. Lol

Oh wait, you weren't referring to that one? Roll

Actually out of all the ones I listed, these are more specific to the current issue:

3 You may not organize nor be a member of any corporation or group within EVE Online that is based on or advocates any anti-ethnic, anti-gay, anti-religious, racist, sexist or other hate-mongering philosophies

4 You may not use “role-playing” as an excuse to violate these rules. While EVE Online is a persistent world, fantasy role-playing game, the claim of role-playing is not an acceptable defense for anti-social behavior. Role-playing is encouraged, but not at the expense of other player. You may not create or participate in a corporation or group that habitually violates this policy.

16 You may not do anything that interferes with the ability of other EVE Online subscribers to enjoy the game or web site in accordance with its rules. This includes, but is not limited to, making inappropriate use of any public channels within the game and/or intentionally creating excessive latency (lag) by dumping cargo containers, corpses or other items in the game world.

29 You will not encourage others to break these rules or any rules set forth in relation to EVE Online’s game service or web site.

I brought up rule 1 because it is the only one being clearly broken, without any wiggle room for interpretation.

Unprofitable to the gankers, who are pretty much paying the "how many strips will drop" lottery to see if they make money or not on this kill or not. Doubly so when they know full well there's worse fit Hulks out there with the exact same moneymaking potential.

ok,

Perhaps there is some way to figure out who is complaining about being ganked, or who is saying that ganking is an issue in hi sec.

Cause i don't believe that everyone posting about ganking being a problem have come here to express hate for being ganked.

Though, theoretically just about everyone here has had their ship ganked at some point.

So they are not being payed 10m ISK per Hulk anymore? Pretty sure you can buy and fit at least ten Catalysts per Hulk easily. So if the combined suicide ships cost less than 10 million ISK, suicide ganking a Hulk will always be profitable.

Or were you hoping everyone would forget about that part of the equation? Shall we talk about the second profit margin of how much Technetium goes into building a Hulk? We could even go a step further and discuss supply and demand. Well? Smile

The only person who gets the 10mil isk for the Hulk is the person who lands the killing blow, everyone else gets squat. Bringing more people just cuts into already meager profits. Again, it's not a guaranteed deterrent (then again, nothing is once you've undocked), but it goes a long way for the cost of the tank (which is small, esp, compared to the price of a Hulk hull).
