Like the title says... I was curious. Being able to tank CONCORD is considered an exploit right?

If you could, it'd certainly be considered an exploit, because you can't Shocked!

Get a solid warp-in to the Orca in question, land right next to Mommy Miner, and activate all your bombs at once. Do not use your Cap Boosters right away – you don’t need them yet. By the time your second volley of smartbombs has detonated, not only will the miners around you be feeling the pain – you will too. CONCORD and the Faction Navy will be on you like white on rice, busy doing all sorts of nasty things (hence the tank mods in the lows). In order to get off the third (and possibly fourth!) rounds of smartbombs, you will need to use your Cap Boosters.

One of the many dastardly things that CONCORD does to you upon spawning is to neut the ever-living bejesus out of you. You will be at zero cap. Once that happens, shortly before the third cycle of your smartbombs, smash two of your Cap Booster modules. This will give you the juice to fire off your full rack of smartbombs. The reason a Typhoon is the ideal ship is that they can fit two sets of two cap boosters, meaning that if your tank can hold on through the onslaught of the police, you will be able to fire off a fourth round of smartbombs.

Typically, a Mackinaw will be destroyed on the third round of smartbombing. However, if you want to make sure no one escapes your devastation (or you want to catch pods napping), the fourth is essential.

So its legal to tank them for a certain period of time or is it illegal to tank them at all?

And there it is Lol

That is not "tanking". That is waiting to die and injecting cap to get off an extra smartbomb volley or two.

Where do you see hp being regenerated at a faster rate than incoming dps (tanking)? Or even regenerated at all?

CONCORD is wierd because it shoots you normally for a second or two after they warp in, but after that they dont do damage, they just set your ship's HP to 0

Now, more than ever, we need a dislike button.

If that is "tanking" concord, then every single combat ship that accidentally got itself popped by them would result in a ban.

so theres a difference between you dying instantly from CONCORD and magically not dying cause the mods you have on the ship? Isnt that usually called tanking?

"Tanking" means "not dying". If you can "tank" something, it can't kill you. If it kills you, you haven't "tanked" it.

It's always going to be legal to attempt to tank CONCORD as long as possible, as they are just ships at the end of the day. So long as you die, it's working as intended. More or less, anyway - like if he'd have come up with a fit that lets you tank CONCORD for multiple minutes or anything like that, then you might see something done, but tanking long enough for one extra round of smartbomb activations isn't even close to that. That's just the sort of creativity that making CONCORD not an insta-kill allows for.

tanking (or attempting to tank) is not an exploit, evading CONCORD is.

So if you are getting engaged by CONCORD and youre able to stay alive indefinately (ot long enough to kill everyone in the belt) then turn off your tank, youre good to go, is that the way it goes?

You can't stay alive indefinitely against Concord.

It's illegal to SURVIVE CONCORD. So, if you could fit a tank that would keep you alive Vs. Concord until downtime, that would be an exploit. If you can fit a tank that keeps you alive for a little longer than not fitting a tank, it is not an exploit.

That's a pretty silly hypothetical as it's not actually possible to tank CONCORD indefinitely - the ship you posted is a hyper-specific battleship fit designed to get 10 extra seconds for one more smartbomb activation. That's not exactly promising when it comes to tanking them indefinitely.

But to address your insane hypothetical, if such a thing actually happened and you felt you had proof, petition the hell out of it, as evading CONCORD is an exploit. Just don't get buttmad when it turns out your suspicions were just that.

EvE, what's happening here is not "tanking". CONCORD, as I understand it, deals damage as a percentage of a ships total HP, so it doesn't matter what you are in, you'll die in relatively the same amount of time, from a rifter up to a titan. Kinda like fall damage in WoW.

What that fit is for, is dealing damage until CONCORD kills you. The cap boosters negate the neut effect allowing you to continue smartbombing until you are dead.

EDIT
