I am not sure it is only the leaders but I basically agree with this assessment.

Nullsec is under the control of a small band of egomaniac warlords who love nothing but to fight.

Is that a problem ? I believe it breaks immersion a bit.

A big part of the reason that our immersion-breaking society still exists is that every single person that cares about immersion is terrible at playing this game.

So you are the kind of guy who would like to see EvE through a kind of air-traffic control screen with little symbols representing ships and dots and arrows for trajectories and weapons effects ? If immersion does not matter, why not get rid of all the annoying 3D graphics, the ship designs, the special effects and all that ?

Conflict = growth, this is truth. Goons plan Vs CCP is conflict, so should in theory work out. TBH its better than just watching Eve become a business venture for the rmt nation anyway, so win either way.

The current fiasco is greatly benefiting RMT'ers, it a loss for CCP.

Ergo I can understand why many people see it as a win.

If everyone agreed to that, EvE online would be a very cheap game indeed for CCP to develop and maintain.

But what about all those new players who are drawn to EvE precisely because of the exceptional 3D graphics ? Unfortunately, these are precisely the ones who pay the bulk of the subscription revenue CCP needs to stay alive ... Those annoying pubbies !

Yes, but in the Future!:
all eve will be is little purple and orange/red boxes of fashionably dressed avatars walking in stations.

(And my video card will still try to overheat.)

Pon Farr Memorial: once every 7 years, all the carebears in high-sec must PvP or they will be temp-banned.

ZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

CCP has banned 10,000 members for Botting in one go.
If it came down to it CCP could wipe out GSF in a heart beat.
And the funny part is they don't even need to have a reason to do it.

For that matter CCP could reset all of 0.0 just as quickly.
Personally though if I was CCP and felt it was time for a 0.0 reset.
I would let loose the dog's of war.
ie - CCP in there special ships (JOVE EMPIRE) going from system to system destroying everything in there path.
It would be a ton of fun "RUN FOREST RUN" Twisted

PS - I would like to volunteer for this if it ever happens.
Just hand me the ship and skills and I will kill anything you want me too TwistedTwisted

PPS - I got 1 Billion ISK that somebody in CCP goes to Hilmar and asks to do it, I know I would.
Just because it is in the spirit of EVE Twisted

Goons try to break every game they get involved with. Nothing new about that at all. Because EvE is a sandbox type game, they can take their agenda to a greater extent than they could with some of the themepark games.

Most interesting read, can't judge how factual it is though. However, it appears that there's a long term goal to push Eve to a point of stagnation in order to break it badly enough that CCP will have no choice but to fix it, or let it die.

Quote:
In truth, the end result of all of this pairing off and conquering is a goal which has been conjured by the CSM. A statement of absolute meaning to CCP: Fix EVE. Fix EVE fast or we'll stagnate the game to the point where there'll be no wars, no need to fight and no need to play. It's a vicious message, a brutal message and it should, hopefully, be significant.

But there is profit to be made here. Money for the man with a keen eye. Control of all of null-sec under a large coalition allows certain resources to be controlled outright. Embargoes on resources result in hi-sec and low-sec being starved of crucial materials needed to build ships and continue the cycle of production and destruction that keeps the EVE Online economy functioning.

You see this? This is why they suddenly are so concerned about mythical "daytrippers" mining ABC in wormholes and want ABC removed from them. This is why they want ice removed from high sec.

Small wheels in a long term plan, not to benefit Eve, at least in the short run, but to push their agenda. The real question is... these are Goons. Are they really ultimately trying to save Eve, or is this the ultimate Goon Eve agenda... to bring it all crashing down and laugh as they transfer to their next MMO victim?

I was suspecting this was the case.
