well my wife steph loves the game, bt can't get past things like

*not knowing how far missiles can shoot without opening spread sheets, and other hidden info*
*every shot hitting the same spot on the ship*
*not being able to walk around multilayer*
and
*the solar system map*

shes says the solar system map looks like a game from 1994, can't argue with that. But I took a 3 year break, and I'm sure CCP might actully finish thisstuff soon. we did play together for 6 months though, was fun : ) back in 2006 lol

My wife doesn't know EvE, and does not want to hear about EvE.

She calls it "that sci-fi game you play".

My oldest daughter, however, seems to like it quite a bit. At 5 she could effectively undock, warp to a gate, and jump, which impressed me as the game client is in English and it's not our native language.

She likes ship spinning quite a lot, and while she is convinced that the Enyo is better than the Ishkur because it's red, she would prefer anything in pinkish tones, actually.

My first alt was rolled as a character for my then-GF to play as, but she played like once or twice and never got into it.

I still have the alt.

The old phobos would have been perfect for her then.

Though, I guess it's somewhat inappropriate to mention the giant pink dildo in this case...

I'm trying to get my wife into the game. If she can get through the initial complexity, she'd probably love carebearing it up. She does that in Wow just fine.

She certainly is a sci-fi fan, so the genre of EVE should be appealing to her. I'm just not sure she'll be able to get past the learning curve, even with me sitting behind her to help explain things.

The other problem is that she likes seeing and interacting with characters. While yes, you can walk around in the officers quarters, the fact that 99% of the game is you in a space ship may be a bit off-putting to her.

I don't think she would have enjoyed the Mass Effect series nearly as much if Shepard was just a portrait and did most of his work from his ship, for example.

In the cat-and-mouse game that is low sec, there is no shame in learning to be a better mouse.

I don't see why they're mutually exclusive. Usually guys that say this are the same type that assume just cause they bought dinner the women 'owes something'. I can't even remember the last time I spent more than $10 on a woman, and I do quite well romantically and financially.

It kind of makes me kinda sad to know that dudes out there have given up the opposite sex for Eve.

Psh.. my Husband got me playing, I love it, But at first before he asked me if i wanted to play i would always be like 'so whats this you are playing?' he showed me then after a while he offered to let me use one of his extra accounts. And now we run a corp together.

These are the rules for who pays:

Whoever organises the entire evening, including the locations; pays.
If there is an ad-hoc decision to eat someplace, dutch, but the guy offers once.

$10 on a date? no wonder you're doing well financially, and if your picking up women that are okay with $10 expenditure on a date, I'd hate to see the figuratively battered-up prostitutes you bring home.

What do you leave them with? An ice-pack?

This depends on your relationship as to whether or not you may wish to play with your wife.

Your wife may decide to pirate and/or blackball you in space, not give you any sexual time for a month for not giving her 500 million starting ISK, etc etc.
