Noob Wormhole questions

Where I typically spend my time in EVE I'm in high sec space but I'm surrounded by low sec on all sides. Every once in awhile I like to move to other parts of the universe and typically don't mind moving through low sec but I'm moving a lot of stuff and would like to avoid low sec at all costs.

My question is this, is there a pattern to when Wormholes pop up in space? I use WH's that connect to other high sec areas in the universe. I have used them to avoid low sec when I find them (And find plenty of things I can move back and forth to trade) The systems I have been keeping track of currently does not have any WH's in them and the last two days I have scanned down the same things which makes me believe that there might be a pattern then they are placed.

If its random, do they appear right after downtime or do they pop up as a timed event throughout the day?

Thank's in advance for any information.

1. It's random.
2. WHs appear and disappear throughout the server session (from one dt to another).

Interesting post, could not find any simple guide on evepedia.

Other question: If i want to do PI on a WH, how do i do to get back in a few days after?

As far as i know you have to stay in there with scanner equipment. As already written, the WH exit is expected to change after round about 24 or 25 hours.

Then you might scan again the exit from the inner, hope for it not leading to an high-sec isle in low sec *smile*, and then fly out of the WH.

1.) Don't forget to bookmark enry AND exit = both ends of the tunnel.
2.) Both changes after the time mentioned above
3.) expect the WH to be inhabitated. You *WILL* encounter hostile players defending "their" property. Often they watch "their" WH, very likely in cloaked ships.
4.) WHs are not newbie friendly. Be warned.

WHs are a big thing on it's own. But i don't want to create an TL;DR - posting now ;)

To augment the previous post.

When entering a wh check dscan with with the overview box unchecked and if you see a tower and force field listed the hole is occupied and you are probably being watched.

Despite my posting prowess I really am terrible at this game

As someone who has had alts die in wh's, that is great advice.

I would also look around,t here was a picture somewhere shwing the color deviations between different wormholes, which can help you make a decision about a wormhole's danger before you ever even enter it.

basically, C1's and C2's have transient populations most of the time, they are good for moving a small amoutn fo goods from oen place to another, usually in a blockade runner for safety's sake.

however, if a C5 or C6 WH shows up in your operating system, watch local and dock immediately if you see local spike,a s these wormholes are often inhabited by very large, very organized alliences that will take all measures in securing local so as to run their logistics througha temporary route to k-space.

but yeah, wormholes dont always appear in a system, and its very rare to find a high-sec to highsec path without ahving to go through 2 or 3 wormholes, and WHs are COMPLETELY random, no one can predict what will show up where.
