It was almost certainly bugged weapons fire. Sometimes the visual effects of a targeted module will display as if they were directed at you even if they were directed at somebody else, it even happens with mining lasers sometimes.

If it looked like a jet of water it was probably artillery, if it was blue then the ammunition type was EMP and if it went "pfft" the size was probably small.

Considering it was during burn jita bugged weaponsfire from thrashers sounds like the explaination to me.

If it was a graphics glitch of the sort described, small arties would be a good bet. It was white, not blue, but I was never very far away from a dozen or more Thrashers.

Bugs don't follow normal rules of range etc.

Hence it's called a bug.
