Which ships are balanced in your opinions?

Dear OP,

How do you mean balanced?

Balance within a class of ships?
A single ship's balance in the greater scheme of things?
A singled out ship in a class to exemplify where the class should be compared to others?
A ship pertaining to a certain race that would be a beacon to build racial balance around?

You don't seem to have a concept of balance, or you do not define what kind of answers you are looking for properly.

Until you do, this thread will be as fruitless as it has been so far...

While you're ofcourse correct I doubt a light tanked incursus has the time to pull that trick on a good dps ranged Slicer before he runs out of structure.

A single decent slicer in a comparable situation as the Incursus (gang links etc) would win every time, be honest. some kills against not so brilliant folks and backed by god knows what doesn't prove anything. Just because a rifter once killed a megathron doesn't prove it's better.

Excellence is not a skill, it's an attitude.

I was thinking the first two. Therefore, ships that are balanced between each other in the same class, with differences and similarities between the ships themselves, as well as balanced compared to other ships, having a specific role to play that allows it to fill a very specific role. For instance, all the logistic ships are useful in different situations, and they have their place in the grand scheme as well, being the only sub cap class capable of doing serious repping.

Don't care really.

Point was that you can kill slicers in Incursus if you work the situation in your favour I.e. through managing there gate agro and making them reapproach the gate because you have been jumping in and out for 2 mins

Slicers aren't that great. Yes a well flown one can be but the vast majority of slicer pilots are terrible

You know, balance have many forms.
Freighters and shuttles were mentioned already, they are the most balanced ships in EvE.
As regards the rest, well, there are allways gaps to be filled, but what gaps exactly, that depends on your understanding of balance.
For example, from the general point of view, caldari being the best for pve and minmatar being most used in pvp is a strong sign of imbalance because it means 75% of ships aren't competitive. Yet many people do not see it as such.

Don't get me wrong, I like Heretic Army and I like Amamake. But there is always at least a Loki on scan, if not more t3.

And I agree, a well flown Incursus can take out a normal slicer pilot, Incursus resists + rep are great against Scorch, the ship isn't that slow, even plated and as you said, most slicer pilots are terrible.

I'd actually argue that it's well balanced. It's flexible, yes, but if you fit it for damage it goes down faster than a "strong" female character in a George Martin novel and if it's fit for tank even a stealth bomber can basically ignore it, kill its friends, then wave and ride off into the sunset before it hits hull.

If you balance the two, for instance making a buffer fit for PvP, you get a decently scrappy midsized ship with a good bit of punch across the size categories, basically like every other BC. It can come out better than some and worse than others, but not to such a degree that it overcomes the effect of pilot skill.

Amarr and Galante have their uses, but both are reliant on cap for primary weapons, except drones, and many pvp fits have neuts.

Amarr are the best neuters in the game and I dare say the best continuous DPS Sov Bashers with their lasers (Saves time for ammo change and keeps up the fire no matter what.)

With the new drone buff, I can honestly say a Dominix should now out DPS a CNR, even if it's more skill intensive on drones. As for a Rattlesnake or Domi, cost is in the Domi's corner. PvE should belong to the Galantes.

I hope the next big war in null sec will see galante ships used more, especially classic domis with the new rigs to help out cpus to fit meaningful blaster fits.

Kinda this. Their mass could be higher though.
