I doubt that the accounting department wants to 'trim the fat'. Silly bravado.

I dunno .. CCP Sreegs et. al. aren't too concerned about killing off accounts...

Granted, this is just bots/RMT numbers though, and not the carebear types who think that eve should be "safe" or something.

Once that godawful notion is purged from the cluster ... and people get back to a mentality or "WTF did I/we do wrong here" instead of whatever mentality causes all the forum whines about it not being fair a ~3 mil warship can murder a 300+ mil mining barge ... yes, things will be grand.

Granted, the nullsec NAPfests and stagnation should be sorted out too. I miss the old days of hearing about big wars as they were happening ...

now all we have are the stories of The Great War, Shrike killing Steve, EBANK et. al., Goons disbanding BOB, etc...

good times those were...

One of the bitter points of a good bittervet is the realisation that all those SP don't really do much, and that the newbie is having much more fun with what little he has. - Tippia

I see people mining every day in fact there are 5 people mining in the system I am sitting in now.

The only mineral prices that are going up are Pyrite and Trit.
Basically the high-sec ores, everything else is going down.

IF every miner actually stopped mining, EVE could probably continue for another 6 months before things got out of control.

The funny bit is that CCP hasn't changed the exhumers sense they came out.
So the odds of them changing them now are slim to none and Goonies know that.

So ultimately when CCP does react, 9 out of 10 it will be the ganker who will pay the price.
I don't believe ganking should be changed but that is the way things go.

So when the dust finally does settle, things are going to be interesting.

with the neverending hulkageddon going on, a lot of miners will quit.......which will lead to less mod's and ships being made, and higher prices of the mods and ships. the only way to counter the inflation is to make payouts worth more. if this keeps up, you could see ship prices doubling or even tripling.

You say that as if it was a bad thing.
Losses meaning something is good, it's actually one of EVE's strongest features that you don't just respawn without losing too much. I feel like PVP losses could still hurt a lot more (like say, triple to current standards) before it becomes a problem.

No, this is saving the mining profession from terrible entitlement cases that ruin the profits for everyone else. Adapt or die.

I know its hard to accept but EVE is not going to die because of the Goons, gankers or UI changes. Mining is apart of the game, but just one part, just like PVP, PVE and other Indy careers. I like to mine because I like to make small ships and ammo and supply them in areas that done have many. But Ive always accepted that Ganking is apart of the game. When I first started playing I made friends and learned the harsh reality of EVE. Empire space is not and should never be considered SAFE space.

I know that a lot of people enjoy the relaxing nature of Mining and I respect that. But you also have to ask yourself what would you do to make a quick 100 mil? A lot of these gankers are in it for the money, and the payout can be quite nice if you excell at ganking. I would be lying if I said I didnt think about joining in for the money. But I decided against it and continue to mine when I feel its safe and have time to be at the keyboard all the time.

No i never said it was gonna be a bad thing.....i think what is happening in the game is fine. If CCP were to change it or force the Goons to stop, then it would completely go against what EVE is all about.

Eve is dying because spaceships are getting destroyed in a game about spaceship combat.

as a long playing member i say overzealous griefing is indeed killing eve by making many very casual players quit. biggest playerbase afterall is one that is in empire and thats a fact.

And here we have today's clueless believer of generalized statistics. A good portion of those active in high sec are actually alts of players who have their mains in low, null and wormholes, the majority of those who are primarily high sec residents probably don't read the forums or feel the need to come whining like a tyre with a slow leak when they lose a ship and in more than likely are happy to accept the game as it is without wanting to change it to suit themselves.

It's only this contingent of entitled fluffies that dwell in high sec and see no reason to change their ideologies to meet the challenges of the game that the rest of us deal with that feel they should be catered too and keep telling us that all the subs that will be lost will cripple the game and CCP when in fact, more veteran players have probably unsubbed in the past 5 years due to ennui than will be lost by a group of pious, entitled fluffies 'taking their business elsewhere' which is already factored into CCP's plan for subscription numbers this year anyway.

Therefore it is not fact, more like a fairytale you tell each other to make yourselves feel like you matter.

Eve Online: still dying 9 years later.

Save it for when there actually is a statistically-significant drop in subscriber numbers. Until then it's just chicken-littles running around the forum crying because their hulk got blown up. I'm not saying it's impossible for subs to drop, Incarna showed that it is, but save it until something like that actually happens.

Of course it's nothing to do with the interface change breaking the bots

Also losing people who only play AFK and never participated in the communtiy at all is going to kill Eve... how?

How stupid are you? Do you have to try this hard to be this stupid or does it come naturally?

Your just an idiot to believe and say that all miners play AFK and never participated in the community. You do understand that selling stuff on the market is participating with the coummunity right?

The interface breaking the bots? Are you serious? You do know its not that hard to readjust the script to fix their bot programs correct? You act like these bots are not smart enough to make a change in their programs to adjust to the new changes.

You can look it up actually. The most popular bot was still broken on the 30th when I last checked, and may still be busted now.
