Even though our friends above already recommended the pages with fits, let's give you a little insight into how the build is made, to show you the logic behind the ship:

Basically, at this tier of Caldari Battleships, you have two choices: the Navy Raven and the Navy Scorpion.

Raven advantages:
- more range (missile velocity)
- one more low slot
- one more missile slot

Scorpion advantages:
- two more mid slots
- more powergrid
- more cpu
- built-in shield resists

As you can see, unless you capitalize on that one more missile slot, the Scorpion would be a better choice. This means that we have to go with minimum sustainable tank on Raven, while sporting as much damage as possible. Since Scorp has 4x low slot, that means 4x Ballistic Control Units. BCU II work, but due to CNR's serious CPU constrains, you'll usually want to get Caldari Navy BCUs. You'll also want at least one target painter (usually PWNAGE) and rigor rigs. What we're left with is 5x medium slots and 1x low slot. Due to CPU constraints, people often get a CPU boost in that spare low, though, if your skill is good enough, you can drop a Damage Control module in there for a tiny bit of extra tank or a signal amplifier for a wee bit extra targetting range.

We have 5 more mid slots. Active tank, so we need 2-3x mission specific shield hardeners and a shield booster. For the remaining slot, there's two general schools of throught: some go for amplifier to ensure more effective cap use, whereas others grab a cap booster 800 and use that to ensure the cap lasts long enough. Personally, I prefer this second option, because the cap charges are cheap anyway and I won't need to use them 90% of the time, but when I do, it gives me considerably more standing power than an amplifier would.

Thus we reach more or less the Liang build:
High:
7x Cruise Missile Launchers II, fury missiles
1x Heavy slot of your choice (most people use tractor)

Mid:
1x Target Painter
3x mission specific Hardeners
1. X-Large Shield Booster (I'm currently using Caldari Navy, but Gist B-type is generally considered the best)
1x Heavy Capacitor Booster II, 800 charges

Low:
4x Caldari Navy BCUs
1x Damage Control Unit or Signal Amplifier or Co-Processor

Rigs:
3x Warhead Rigor Catalyst (level dependant on your skills)

Note: I have a secondary build that has an afterburner for those missions where the acceleration gates are tens of miles away. However, I'd dare say that a Scorp and especially a Tengu would perform better on those, as both can already do so without sacrificing much of your tank (in fact, both sport it in their regular mission builds as it is).

All in all, CNR is a great mission ship - treat her well and she won't let you down. Good luck and godspeed.

In addition to all Caitlyn has said (and well said!) Navy scorpion is way cheaper than CNR and it is the best entry BS to L4 missions for low skilled players thanks to its PG (not needed really) and CPU, shield ressists and midslots. Also fitting two painters allow for better DPS against frigs and cruisers than the Raven with low skills.

After you are confortable with the uber tank on the SNI and want more gank, buy the CNR, although I will recommend to switch for the tengu since you will do missions faster than in a CNR

Also, All the equipment you will use in your navy scorpion will be the same you will fit on your CNR, so you can pimp the SNI with deadspace modules and just bring them over the CNR when you think it is the time.
