How do Womrholes compare to 0.0?

So the part of Eve i really like is lawless space, i go into high sec occasionally for money, or to park my arse when i am inactive.. but i much prefer 0.0 to high sec ... well because i like shooting **** :P

the problem i had with 0.0 space is that it would eat my life 6+ hour fleet ops to find absolutely nothing to shoot .. or 6+ fleet op where were get to shoot only a few things.

how does w-space compare? can you get away with just playing for a few hours here or there.. get some pew pew in, or maybe some sites if there isn't any easily accessible enemy activity around?

THE best thing about WH space....NO LOCAL. Surprise attacks can actually be a surprise. Everyone uses cloaks and ganking is part of day to day WH life. It's can be exciting, terrifying, and rewarding....all at the same time! So the Pew Pew can be high.

Sites are a good source of income, but it's the salvage that makes the big bucks. So if you do you need some way to salvage. Which means an alt...or gimping your ship. Some make it a permanent place to stay...some roam in and out. We always welcome more targ....er....friends into WH space.

i have two accounts.. this one which is my combat account, and another which is my industrial account. both my combat and industrial char can fly noctis, but my indy char is 4 days from Salvager IIs :D

my industrial can also fly orca (Orca, Hulk, Noctis, Providence) .. in about a month that account starts cross training combat.

If you're point is pew pew, on a solo style you're not going to find a lot of it. You have to hunt a while to find targets. Even in a good fleet, it might take a little time to find stuff to shoot at. 6 hours is a half a day of Eve for us sometimes. :P

Don't meant to be discouraging, but it's not going to be guns blazing and no time commitment.

my point isn't just pew pew.. i like earning isk too :P

i like mixing my earning isk with removing isk from other people's wallets :D

You definitely get fewer fights per hour played in w-space than in 0.0. So if you want to leave 0.0 because of too few fights you're going to hate w-space.

But wormhole pvp is more rewarding imho... spending half an hour sneaking up to someone who can't just see me in local, make him bring his two buddies in when I attack him and then drop my five buddies whom they never saw coming on top of them all is way more fun than sitting at a gate in null and popping three random travellers in five minutes.

Problem is, you may spend three days killing nothing for every day something cool like that happens.

All in all it's very different and both has its own advantages. At the end of the day I prefer wh pvp, but I also have a pvp char in a nullsec corp :)

i left 0.0 because it eats your life.. you either have to play in 5+ hour blocks or not at all.

i don't mind a fruitless hunt.. if i can go POS up or safe spot and log out if i need at any point quickly and not be buried far away from home.

some nullsec alliances have hisec->nullsec or lowsec->nullsec gates that need to looked at. you can also find some pewpew on territory borders.

gate camps are fairly boring. i want to be able to get my pew pew in, or my isk earning for the day [and mission grinding is sorta boring.. though ratting doesn't really bother me] and out quickly.

the big factor is time spent.. i enjoy eve but i cannot have it eating my life.. some nights i might have only 1 hour to play, some nights 3 .. weekends i might have longer.

Yes if you get into an active wormhole corp living in a well-established system you should be able to log on whenever you want, do something productive for however long or short you want and leave at any time. w-space is quite convenient in that respect.

... at least until some bigger alliance is suddenly sieging your corp's POS and all your stuff may be stolen or blown up just on a day were you really have no time for EVE Lol

Denidil, I have lived in both high sec, null, and wormholes, and much prefer wormholes. These are the reasons:

1. You can get space rich, and if you know what you are doing, you can do it somewhat safely.

2. The PVP is way more controllable, and, as someone mentioned above, rewarding. I love to cloaky stalker-gank someone.

3. You don't often deal with ZOMG BLOB FLEETS coming in to mess up your small attack group.

4. As you might have inferred, I love small gang warfare, and its a small gang warfare paradise.

5. Sometimes you catch people flying needlessly shiney ships, and your suprise fleet makes them go pop quickly and nicely.

We are recruiting. If you fly US TZ prime, convo me sometime.

1) space rich is good.. i never feel that i have enough isk :P [even though i tihnk i am sitting on around 4 bil liquid and 5 bil assets]

2) good, and i love flying cloaky

3) the only good blob, is a bombed blob (50 bombers hitting support bridging in? yes pls :D)

4) cool

5) pimped out tengu in a c1? yes pls :D

i am US west coast (seattle area).. but considering my commute i only get 4-5 hours of 'free time' a day .. and i have to spend some of those with my wife :P

right now i'm inactive in game just letting trainin queues run on my combat [main] and industry accounts

theres no blobs for a start.

The atmosphere is ALOT friendly everyone who's actually someone knows everyone else and 1 minute you could be tearing the other persons eyes out the next your doing a joint op against someone else

The pvp is ALOT more rewarding

You CAN get space rich but some people take this too far (we tend to spend quite a bit of our time correcting this idea of theres :P)

Theres more GF's to be had and against different people each day due to the changing dynamics it means every day brings something new

Also invading someone in W-space is a big thing and takes actual preparation not jsut cyno in titans to kill everything.

You sound like our kind of guy, apart from being inactive (it happens, though). Please look us up when you get more active if you want a good group to fly with. I've been living in wormhole space for over a year now with a few short stints in high (I was actually scanning down and running in holes for money the hole time since I first went, however). Our other directors and CEO have been active in wormholes and/or null for about two years consecutively. So, we have the on hand experience to show you the ropes when/if you become available.

@Cybus Max: There have been a few times I was really glad someone took being space rich too far. See below:

Admittedly, neither one of them was overly tanked for a wormhole ship in general; the problem is that they were well overtanked for their static. The second one I linked was killed by us in a C1! Shocked Oh, yeah, and he had a subsystem and a lot of other crap in his cargo hold flying around... and came in to get in on a kill in a bait drake at 0, despite have two other battlecruisers tackling it and being able to hit at like 100! (Admittedly, if he had good skills, which I hope he did if he was flying a Tengu period.)

If you think there arent enough targets in nullsec, you should stay well clear of WHs.
Theyre more about the thrill of the hunt than the actual fight.

If youre the kind of guy who sticks around for 8 hours to get a covops kill with a well laid trap EG, then theyre perfect for you.
If you just want to log on for an hour and go roam around and blow some **** up and get blown up, join red vs. blue or stay in null.

There is no Bob.

Like every part of eve w-space is what you make of it. If you have difficulty coping with nullsec fleets and roams not getting lots of kills, then w-space is **not** for you.

I guess I am almost a 'vet' by now. Hopefully not too bitter and managing to help more than I hinder. I build and sell many things, including large collections of bookmarks.
