Will the new wardec assist/ally option completely wipe out hisec wars?

The new wardec system offers up the opportunity of corps/alliances to "assist" or "ally" with the corp/alliance that got wardecced - for a fee (not sure exactly how low this fee can go).

Now, say your hisec corp was wardecced. What I foresee will happen is: Every trade hub griefer corp will offer their assistance for 1 isk just for the opportunity to have more targets for no fee.

With that in mind, will this mean the end of to all hisec wars? Can you even afford to wardec anyone if you are a hisec corp with this mechanic possible?

PS: I don't really give a **** about hisec wars, I just don't think CCP has thought this completely through... I foresee the creation of a shitton of new corps that doesn't do anything else but assist in every war possible Big smile

Have you looked at the map, regarding kills in the last 24h ?
As far as i can tell, there's Inferno spread over empire space.

No idea where people see "the end of highsec wars".

Oh and regarding the assist.

I joined an alliance that's at war with a bigger corp everybody knows.
And the defending side got ten+ allies (last time i checked) ... it's AWESOME ! :D

If you can't deal with a few trade hub campers you don't deserve your free miner kills.

Not the point at all I was trying to make.

Post inferno, when you initiate a wardec, you are now also cutting yourself off from all trade hubs (due to the one isk heroes possibly joining each and every war). That's the potential "problem" I see. Basically the initiator of a war can now be potentially much more "punished" than previously.

Yes, people who do wardecs all the time won't care and those wars will persist (or in some cases probably drop a bit due to increased costs, but whatever). Its the wardecs initiated by small corps that want to engage another small corp that may somehow have slighted them I foresee will go away - as the cost of doing this in terms of needing additional neutral alts and/or isk for moving things etc. just went way up (as I see it).

No.
InstaDock and InstaUndock bookmarks make it virtually impossible to prevent somebody from docking/undocking unharmed. WTZ&Jump makes it virtually impossible to kill somebody off before he jumps through a gate, too.

Sure ... one still needs these bookmarks ... but that's not really such a big issue.
I made an InstaUndock bookmark in Jita all by myself, in a pod, as -10 ... so it's not a biggy.
One just needs to be creative and think it through.

And those who don't dare, those hide their cowardish rearends behind alts anyway.

it is now more risky to make a war, and you should be prepared for that when you Dec someone. Also if it get too much, you can get your allies to Dec them as well, coordinate some banks, then kill the blobbing retards.

I deal with wars daily, I only had three wars so far, but most on them were amazing compared to the usual wardec.

If you can't handle a few jita campers in their instalocking-tornados or vindicators, then dont wardec people.

When my corp was still living in high sec and war decking corps regularly we would have loved having all those additional free targets to shoot at. More targets is better for the high sec griefer not worse. Not by a long shot. Rarely will all those corps who accept the "Ally" offer actually work together effectively. In the end the griefer gets more noobs to shoot at which is what they really want anyway.

"virtually impossible" LOL. these tactics only work once, then the next time we'll have someone sitting there waiting for some poor schmuck to instwarp to their safe only to be tackled, webbed, and scrammed

Not to mention theres a thing called "THE OTHER SIDE OF THE GATE"

It's like they usually say about fantasy MMO's and men playing female characters: "If I'm going to spend alot of time watching this character, it might as well have a good looking ass".

I could not be happier to hear such things.

If brute force isn't working, you're just not using enough.

Meh. I predicted the same thing. It's starting to happen, though those trade hub campers are starting to find out they don't want to pick fights with people who know how to actually FIGHT in highsec.

I thought I read that the ally system had too many flaws like allies being locked in a war they can't leave by allying themselves with a corp run by alts of the corp they are at war with so they decided to leave it out. Am I wrong about that? At any rate I wouldn't worry about trade hub campers unless they change their tactics, they use sucide gank fits principally on destroyers, minimal tank, if you're in a combat ship you can take them.

You're wording that wrong and you seem to be rather egocentric, because this wasn't about you and what you're doing.

That said ... i don't disagree with you ... but assuming that people only have ONE InstaUndock seems weird to me ...
Maybe people are in fact that stupid ... i have no idea.

Personally, i have a dozen ... and the number increases every week.

TL;DR:
As long as nobody cares to find the spot, InstaUndocks are quote a safe way to get out.

dont make any instawarp only 150km away... where ever possible make them out of grid or better 1000km+ away.

We have ones who only undock in Vigilants, Vindicators and Bhaalgorns. And only with the full compliment of Neutral RR.

I'm guessing those guys aren't suicide ganking because RR won't save you from Concord
