Then do something about it.

The question is: what are you planning to do about it? EVE gives you the tools to deal with it.

I would admire a response that is not something like "ask CCP to make ganking harder".

Ganking does not need to be nerfed.
NPC response does not need to be buffed.

Player-driven-response is what needs to be looked at, perhaps.

The more automated penalties we have against ganking, the less player-to-player interaction there is in EVE.

Massively. Multiplayer. Online.

I think most of us want more tools to enhance interaction between players, not with NPC's. NPCs do not require an "Online" mode, and great PVE content can be found in numerous other games. The Elder Scrolls series, for instance, are a great example of awesome PVE content.

But in the end, you do not play PVE-only games for 9 years.

Oh, sure you do. Just not the same game and not the same content.

Besides, you presume like so many people do that everybody who opposes ganking only does PVE. That's not the case. You oversimplify Eve into the carebear and the PVP player. The reality is not so neat. There are lots of things to do in Eve besides shooting mining barges. Ganking does not depend on Hulkageddon or the Goons, either, and if Hulkageddon just ended, a lot of this furor would quiet down. Keeping Hulkageddon as an eternal feature of Eve has pissed people off. It's just another grab for attention. Opposing that is not the same as opposing all ganking in Eve.

It makes me think of the whole political thing where more than justice, equality and all that what people really want is stability to go about their lives.

What I didn't expect is people clamouring for the same thing in a video game, something that's meant to provide fun and excitement. Not stability above all else, to ensure maximum efficiency when building up a big pile of isk. Because having high numbers equals fun, right?

I just don't see the enjoyment in blindly going about the same thing every day, undisturbed, untouched by anything from the outside world of eve, when there's this whole universe of awesome stuff going on. And yet some people don't even notice Burn Jita or Hulkageddon until it kills them.

Thats a h3ll of an attitude, you don't understand them so you think they should be killed. I'm surprised you made it through school or perhaps you didn't.

I don't hate PVE; I bear all the time. You're reading a hell of a lot into my post. You're the one equating PVE with total disconnect from the sandbox, not me.

My problem isn't the people who don't enjoy PVP. My problem is the people who expect to play in a sandbox but never be touched by the actions of others. The ones who complain about mineral prices as though they have a right to always pay the same rates because it's convenient. The ones who demand CCP expel goons from the game because they happen to be the most successful at the moment. And yes, the ones who think they should be able to fly expensive, untanked ships and never get shot at, because it's inconvenient and adapting might cut into their isk efficiency.

I'm fine with people who don't want to stamp on others' sandcastles and prefer to build their own. But I don't understand why some of them mark off their corner of the sandbox and expect never to have to interact with anything else, be it through price fluctuations, ganking, ship rebalancing, whatever. If you play to relax, fine, but if it's perfect safety you want then Eve has never been that game and demanding it change that is like demanding that CoD gets patched into an RTS.

This just in: Different people like different things and are upset when other people intentionally interfere with the things they like.

The real mystery is why they bring the upset to the forums, when the cause of their upset is a normal, everyday game event. Uncalled interference is a feature of this game, not a bug.

No mystery at all. Players don't bring every instance of "uncalled interference" to the forums. When the biggest alliance in the game organizes a perpetual event targeted at one group of players who do one particular kind of task, they bring that to the forum. And they are entitled to do that as often as they want.

Is it really that hard to fit two resist mods to kin/therm and have a friend/second account in a T1 logi cruiser, or just stay aligned and use D-Scan? Or maybe try to scout around for safe enough systems for your liking, there are over a thousand systems in high sec, probably a lot more?

How about a DCU and some tanking rigs, instead of your MLU's and Cargo Optimization rigs?

Lol covops sidles up, uncloaks, MWD on to bump out of alignment BC blaps barge or team of mouthbreathers in dessies spanks it to ribbons.

Confirming there is no counter to suicide ganks.

Please, nobody mention single ganker in throwaway ship or bots-must-die, it's about the tears and a little bit about the null botters RMT income.

Unfortunately, thats not the way it works for Carebears.

In the real world, they cry, and CCP rushes with a bottle of warm milk.

Their summer staff is essentially "the stapler guy from Office Space" in the basement, yet even with everyone on vacation they managed to fix Hulkageddon in record time.
