Where to get faction/officer/deadspace stuff?

I am just wondering where to get these faction/officer/deadspace items, as it sounds pretty epic to get one of these rare items.
I'm sure it's difficult to get them, but I never made effort to actually try and find these from NPCs, so hey, a new goal for my character to accomplish ;)

Faction spawns happen in various places but most common are asteroid belts and anomalies.

Officer spawns are only in deep 0.0 space or NPC home regions. Officers are also pretty hardcore to kill now and normally require a couple of people (although I have heard people have ways to solo them still)

Deadspace items can be found in DED Complexes which are scanned down or static beacons on the overview.

http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Rat - information on ratting, check "rare spawns" for info on officers and faction spawns

If you're interested in hunting in 0.0 space for rare spawns or sites you're welcome to come to Fourth District space in Providence (so long as you're not KOS to the Providence holders)
We're NRDS meaning we don't shoot neutrals in our space and they're free to do what they like (as long as they don't shoot other neutrals) you can't get officer spawns in our space but there are plenty of Sansha Faction spawns and Complexes if you hunt for them.

Faction stuff can come either from the upgraded rats in low/null sec (like Shadow Serpentis, True Sansha, etc). They are rare and offer higher bounties. You can also find some missions with rare faction rats, World's Collide is a good example and one most commonly farmed.

Deadspace loot comes from exploration. Scan for anomalies, the higher the difficulty the greater the chance, or visit unrated sites for a tiny chance.

Officers are tough and available in null (maybe low, but I've never heard of them spawning there). Officers used to be easy to kill, but are super-buffed now and will usually require a group to bring down. They may spawn in belts, or possibly in anomalies. Regardless, you probably will be in for a rude awakening if you try to take one down in your null-sec solo tengu.

And at the very end of escalation chain, which you can get from unrated complexes.

@OP
The only source of deadspace modules is exploration. There are two types of complexes ( for deadspace loot ) :

1. Rated - DED1 - DED10 ( like Serpentis Phi Outpost, Guristas Scout Outpost..... )
In those complexes you can get the loot from the overseer rat/structure in final room. Normally you need to scan them down using core probes. There is also a chance ( very small ) that you get one of those complexes as an expedition from anomaly.

Complexes you can find in different spaces :
in hisec - DED3-DED4
in lowsec - DED4-DED6
in nullsec - DED6-DED10

note : DED1 and DED2 are static sites ( the beacons are visible on the overview ) but they are usually farmed so don't bother with those. They are available mostly in hisec but you can also find them in lowsec.

2. Unrated complexes ( Hideout, Lookout, Watch, Vigil, Outpost, Annex ..... )
Those complexes can give you expedition ( commonly called escalation ). You just need to kill specific triggers to get it.
At the very end of this expedition you will have a chance to obtain deadspace mods. Faction spawns can also appear here.

In hisec you can get frigate class mods ( a,b,c types ) and cruiser class c-type mods ( from DED4 )
In lowsec you can get cruiser class mods ( a,b,c types ) and battleship class c-type mods ( from Annex expedition )
In null you can get battleship class mods ( a,b,c,x types )

Faction loot is obtained through elimination of faction rats :
Shadow Seprentis
True Sansha
Dark Blood
Dread Guristas
Domination

Those rats can be found in asteroid fields or anomalies ( in final spawn ). They are also present in both rated and unrated complexes ( sometimes have a different name like - 'Pat Wead' in Angel Vigil for instance ) and during expeditions ( they can spawn in any part of the expedition usually ). In addition to faction mods you can also get lucky with pirate implant sets - like Crystals, Snakes etc. ( LG implants from frigs, cruisers and HG implants from battleships ).

Of course all those drops are totally random so you can do many sites or kill many faction rats and get NOTHING. The same goes to expeditions ( they are not guaranteed ).
