This is just an economic maneuver much like the ice interdiction.

This is true, but if these were people that considered evolving, Hulkageddon 5 wouldn't have been the rousing success it was - in fact, it would have probably died off by now. Events like that persist precisely because people don't like to adapt, especially if it means making slightly less potential isk than you were before. You adapting beyond that makes you one of the smart ones - it's people with mentalities like yours are the ones who will profit even greater than we ever will from events like this. I feel dirty saying that to Frying ******* Doom of all people, but it's true.

That said, I wouldn't say this is "just" an economic maneuver. If anything, I'd say the larger motivation was to create fun and chaos, and economic profit is an ancillary benefit to that (let's be honest, we were hardly struggling for isk before any of this really got going). This could be an overall financial loser for us and we'd still do it, no question.

No I disagree with people using T2 vessels because that is exactly what goonswarm want people to do. You fly it they destroy it, you go buy another one Goonswarm make money.

T2 ships have caused alot of people to do extra training, I have 3 character with exhumers 5 but give the Goonswarms alliance clear ability to find ways to make them selves money just makes this impractiacal now.

Also how can you say anything bad against Goonswarm if you are paying them. This is like the SUV argument, you will always have people saying its my right to use a huge car which I have no reason for, while contributing 48% of the worlds pollution.
You can hardly say it is your right to use a T2 ship and then complain because it is destroying the environment (EvE).

I dont believe anyone should GTFO about this just stop complaining about something they themselves are causing.

You seem to be under the illusion that ALL T2 ships and modules use Goon™ brand moon goo. While GSF is a major supplier of the stuff, they aren't the only source and to kill off all ships 'just in case' is pretty moronic imo, and amounts to the same kind of griefing tactics being used elsewhere at this very moment.

As I've already said, by destroying the T2 ships and modules, you are actually creating MORE of a demand for the stuff and achieving the opposite of what you are trying to do. People won't stop buying/using T2 ships and modules just because some asshat ganks them a few times, and the gankers themselves are also going to lose money by doing so. The number of people still buying Hulks after the umpteenth gank is testament to peoples stubbornness.

You're playing right into the hands of the Goons with this idea, but maybe that's the plan?

I'm sorry but I don't ever remember saying modules anywhere. It is the T2 ships that must die. The Technetium Cartel, is the only source of technetium and it is used in a hell of alot of reaction blueprints, which is why it is worth so much.

Try reading one of the Hulkageddon cry threads once and realize how many miners refuse to even TRY to tank their Hulks because anything resembling a tank fit will affect their yield. That's the mentality of the career PvE'r - max yield. The fastest killing ships for incursions or missions, and the highest yield mining ships. Accept literally zero substitutes and cry when you lose your ridiculous isk pinata.

Show me a hulk fit that can't be ganked in hi sec.

Its not rocket science, If a ganker is going to gank you, you will be ganked unless the ganker fails the gank somehow.

Anything can be tanked, I ran into a mack yesterday that due to its shield tanking and bonus from its controlling orca didn't pop.

That was one smart pilot, he adapted. True enough if I had used a bigger ship I could have gotten him but then the financial loss to me would be too great to cover the reward.

That's a loaded question since you didn't specify security status of the system, how many gankers came along, did they bring T1 or T2 ships, etc. I'm not going to bother posting fits because no matter what you'd just magically add enough catalysts to make sure the job gets done. Of course, that starts a whole other discussion of whether or not that'd even be worth it to the gank group.

Tanks will never 100% prevent anything, but they can make you a far less attractive target. It's no guarantee, but Eve is a game of no guarantees.

Thanks for the compliment I never thought I would hear that lol

And yes I will profit massively, I have 4 hulks in my hanger that I payed less than 100 mill each for. When things get really high I will sell them and immediately locator agent the buyers and pop them:)

Oh plus of course the reward money Lol

Im free bumping my own thread.

But this is just insane. There are so many people now who seem to play eve and have no idea what the game is really about.

Maybe its just lack of thought by people and they are happy to have there little part of there game as a belief of how the game works but hell I thought every one grew out that after a few months in this game. To go around for so long with blinkers on seems insane.

Eve is a player run capitalist based economy and everything that happens revolves around that. If there was no profit in killing hi-sec miners it wouldn't happen. It only really used to occur during Hulkagedon because there was money to be made.

So its back to risk vs reward. If you must use a hulk or mack to get alot more money then you are getting alot more risk.

Just as the game was designed to be.

You really need to read the forums more often if you think I am a Goon alt. The ignorance of this poster is a good indicator of peoples lack of understanding of what is really going on.

The fault lies not with the Goons but with the T2 using Idiots. Please everyone for the love of EvE, kill off all the T2 ships you can find they don't deserve to be in Empire space.

Yeah, Frying Doom is definitely not a Goon. He was in BTA, which we hounded until they ceased their badposting ways, and Frying Doom left their alliance.

Buzzzz.. Wrong.

I am no ones alt,

For the next CSM election I will be pick another unsuspecting candidate, possibly even a Goon poster alt to try to get into the CSM.

Showing that the election process is so easy to manipulate that it is in real need of a change.

All the while making fun of the Goons if they run a candidate (which I hope they do or my fun will be greatly reduced) on issues like the end result of the CSM7 elections, the fact that CSM6 claimed ownership of the inferno expansion and all that has entailed and many many pore pokes and laughs. Lol And I almost forgot the failed war dec's against a single person.

Its not rocket science, one of the primary reason why a gank fails is tanked targets.

A fairly tanked (note, not a completely tanked) Hulk can withstand 4 salvos from 5 different Catalysts at the same time even without overheating the hardeners. Sure, a determined ganker could still bring 3 max skilled T2 tornadoes and kill the Hulk easily, but i were the Hulk pilot, i'd probably laugh my arse off if they need to do that just to pull off the gank.
