Dang, I'm now even more scared.

As somebody else said, sooner or later you will loose ships.
The easy way to overcome is to fit a bunch of cheap ships, join RvB, Rifterlings, etc and have some fun getting blown up :)

After you die (quite) a few times, it won't be that bad ...

I lost two by now but i played other games where dying was more harsh than in EVE (only loosing your equipment here) and required weeks to recover Shocked so, i'm fine with it...
Isk can be made pretty fast in EVE.

Oh my.. Everyone.. I am pretty busy with work and found today I could finally play for a bit and I log in to see a bunch of letters. After reading all of them then checking back here I am over whelmed with information to say the least. However, I have never in my life been offered so much help as I have been with this community. I can not believe the people that play this game, I can not believe how generous a fanbase can be.
Maybe it's because I'm so jaded when it comes to forums since I've played games with some pretty terrible communities but even the best of communities wouldn't be able to compare to this. Thank you all so much for the support I've been given and thank you for making a game that seems daunting, well still daunting. But now I have this drive to get better and learn more just so I can consider my self a member of this incredible community. Thank you all so so much.

And that's what we wanted to do.

Why can't all new player be like you, would make EVE the greatest game ever (IMO it already is).

Also on second note, I just realized I've been given a total of 61 million isk. Only one who has given me has told me so, so to everyone else who did it and didn't even ask for a thanks, well thank you. I can't believe the wonderful start I've been given. Mining so far has caught my interest and I plan on starting that and with all this money I don't think it will be a problem.

Ahh, I remember the first time I logged onto EVE, It was both exciting and nerve racking as like you I'd come from WoW. I might have quit a few times but once you start something in EVE its very hard to stay away.

I suggest you find an avenue and follow it to begin with. I chose industry and Mining (Not meaning you should to the same) to begin with and slowly over the time I've been playing this game I've expanded into new areas of trading, logistics and eventually I will delve into the world of PVP. As everyone else has said don't be afraid of the environment your in, defiantly don't be afraid of losing ships, it happens, every time you do you learn something that helps you not to make the same mistake again.

The EVE community is something that captured me from day one. I never before seen such a broad span of individuals working together indirectly and directly to create the amazing and complex game that is EVE

I encountered MANY friendly pilots during the very first week I arrived in New Eden. I was quite impressed with the friendliness and generosity of those fellow capsuleers, strangers though they may have been.

I have never forgotten those acts of kindness, and I am still in New Eden today in large part because of them.

Since then, I pay it forward to other new pilots when the opportunity arises. A small gift for you, spend it well, and enjoy.

Fly safe.

Is there a safe way to play this game?

Yes.

1. Stop being afraid of losing things that don't matter.
2. Realize that none of it matters.

Be sure that your "Home" station always has Medical cloning services.

Not all do.

Being podded into a station without medical services is not a good thing.
