I always thought the Moa kind of looked like Godzilla in the middle of a Mortal Combat style flying kick.

I love that ship.

I agree that the mutant zombie turkey has to go. Making ships weird and akward serves what purpose? Ambience?. Its like purposely designing a car to look at crap. *Down* with the weirdness.

On a side note, perhaps just to elaborate to the artist the 'why' of why we think the new manticore is so sexy, IMHO, its not just the aggressive styling, sleekness, and nice skinning. I also think its the way that the weapon systems in so closely integrated into the ship hull. The torp launchers are incorporated into the ship hull very naturally and give it a very potent feel.

Some of the eve ships seem to have there turrets/launchers placed as almost an afterthought, for example, the turret placement of the Machariel seems like it was placed as an afterthought. While turret/launcher placement if the stealth bombers and even the new Tier 3 battecruisers is well thought out and scaled to the size of the ship hulls well.

I Disagree, i believe that its all of the above that make it what it is. All of which the Moa Lacks, especially considering the new turret placement.

I'd definitely like to see more of a focused route taken on caldari visuals. As it stands now, CCP seems to be making new caldari ships semi-symetric (See: Manticore, Naga, Scorpion) as well as several old ships that are semi symetric and should maintain their basic shape (Rokh, Phoenix) in that they are lagely symetric, but with their own minor quirks and asymetries that give them alot of character, while being small enogh to maintain believability (See: Radar Dish on Naga/Scorpion and Manticore's Bridge). Personally, i feel like this is a good direction for Caldari, and would love to see more ships like this. However, the new raven model makes me question the direction CCP is taking.
Guess well have to wait and see, unless someone from the art department wants to post something? Blink

I agree with this statement. Subtle asymetry likethe Manticore makes a ship unique and interesting. But the complete and utter non-sensical asymetry for the past designs is just plain ugly. CCP making ships schizophrenic and replusive detracts from the otherwise nice visuals of the game IMHO.

I was suprised when they updated the Raven they kept it looking so lopsided.

I *like* asymmetrical ships, but the Raven is podgy on one side. All it needs is for that extra spikey bit which is under the bigger wing to be swapped to the other side and made a tad smaller (under the shorter wing) and it would look rather well balanced.

The Moa, along with the Imicus, need to be taken around the back of the barn in my opinion. I don't think there's anything to salvage there.

I must admit I enjoy the new Manticore look on top of the Scorpion update and more.

I've been away from the game about a year and when I returned I found my beloved Raven updated too. I've always hated the very sideheavy Raven and the duck ass of an engine, but the new engines on each side makes it much more balanced to look at.

Completely Agree. Time will tell, I Suppose.
Just about anything would be better than what the Moa is now. Hoping they change its basic shape and not just 'Raven' it.
Still, I have high hopes. CCP Art Dept. has done a great job so far,
