This however is idealised. Dont forget that CCP have complete control over the game so they can do as they please.

As for the pot luck, well, i agree its not 100% safe. But then there are no degrees of safety either. Given a fleet size you can get killed by suicide gank in 1.0 as much as in 0.5. Now that, is pot luck and sec status is just for...graphics..
Those that do want it to be safe in high sec, will leave in the end. Its no problem to start with, you can always entice more geeky carebears to do this stuff, but after a while word gets out or another game comes along..

When the game advertises things like highsec and concord and then you end up dead, some people might call it misleading. The game in *unrated* by ESRB too. Not sure if thats good or bad.

That i feel pity, is a reflex after what happened. It will probably go away, dont worry, and dont take that too hard most online gamers, we dont have a life etc etc.

The fact that "its just a game" is said a lot of many games. True I should'nt worry too much about it, what I do concern myself with though, is what kind of game is it.

As for the graphics, please, look at the work behind the character customisation...What a waste of resources...and hard disk space. Not to mention station environments..10 years to do that?! And it hogs the PC like Hanibal in the lamb farm.

I dare say that besides the basic mechanics it started with in the years up to and including T2 EVE has not evolved in it mechanics as much as other online games. Sad, but true. Not for a good few years. And i doubt that what they have, for example the complexity of ME/PE/invention has any point at all except just that i.e to be complicated. And more graphics. More dots...

Perhaps incursions which i havent bothered with tried to cater for pvp in highsec, but after today, it clearly hasnt. Come to think of it, what happened to me wasnt PVP, It was like shooting fish in a barrel...So yeah i do pity them.

The have also been terribly slow incorporating community addons like WoW has done. Sorry its the online game leader and even after dropping lately to 8million subscribers is a lot more than 50k.

In the end online games differ from single-player games like X3 you mentioned in one important aspect, interaction with other people.

Its preferable to get that right, than having people sit and look at a roid for 30minutes or need a math degree to figure out if its worth making a t2 ship. Its ok abt the math all games have some, but if you screw up people interaction...

I believe there is a big misunderstanding about freedom and rules. Usualy to much freedom ends in implosion.

Perhaps it preferable to rid the game of mining and manufacturing all together. It would still be enjoyable.

You seem like a smart guy, but there is a difference between WoW and this game, WoW has lots of subscribers, most of them in the age group of 11-20 years old hence the cartoonish toons, this game requires some learning, some strategy, and some smarts. Had to of my lame rl friends come from that toon game to this game and they went back to WoW, because, well its easy, they coulnt get in the biggest ship and kill everything, they wanted instant gratification which like call of duty all which require little skills just run and kill, so that being said, the video some guy linked of the hulk baiting itself while armed is great try it. This game is like no other, the longer you play the more you learn, some learn faster than others, some stay in limbo. I dont afk anything sry, its a bad move anywhere in EVE space. Its space, it has cops but just like in real life, they cant be everywhere, thats why you can do whatever you want in this game, thats what being a pirate is all about, and it is a profession. You lose a ship, just dont let it happen the same way again. Use your money to fortify your fleet of ships, and get skills and train them. Or you can play WoW and camp out at a boss you cant kill and wait for another group to come and do it for you and then try to steal the drops, oh wait that pirating too.

I figured that was the situation, which is why I choose not to initially respond. I can however understand your sentiment, as I lost a paladin to an AWOX.

You just have to keep plugging away or choose a different profession. Or just win the money back 3x like I did in the blink :)

there are a couple of givaways i can offer.

2 races. For those intersted within the last 45 mins i unachored 2 spots for control towers in high sec Forge

One is in Liekuri abt 3-4 jumps from Jita, Liekuri VII Moon 1. that one is close to a jumpgate if that matters
The second is in Airaken, further out, Airaken VIII Moon2. Airaken borders low sec
