If eve's a sandbox

Castles are built and knocked over in nullsec, we're in the sandbox playing with the sand because we like the sand, and there's only one decent sandbox in the MMO playground.

You highsec dwellers however have waddled over from the WoW swings and the SWTOR slide, and now you're sitting on the edge of the wooden frame of the sandbox complaining that you got sand all over your icecream. You complain that the sandbox is too sandy for you, and that CCP should fill the sandbox in with rubber cement and install some swings, because your desire to go on the swings is perfectly valid and everything should be changed to accomodate your wishes.

Personally I think the kids are quite justified in rubbing your fat icecream covered snotty face in the sand

Problem is the kiddies who's mums make them wear floaties in the wadding pool are the largest cash influx for this game. CCP being a real life business cannot ignore them forever. I'm not saying it is right but that's life.

Any spelling, grammatical and punctuation errors are because frankly, I don't care!!

Sandbox more like a controlled substance. There are people who really think they jump in pods and go out to make their killboard all uber. They are hooked and CCP is the pusher adding no value to the addiction but the users want more.

Goons are the people who keep bulldozing sections of the sand, in order to make improvements, but also burying your toys.

CCP regulate the level of sand in the box and will change it on a whim if the castle smashers aren't getting enough play.

You generalize about people who disagree with you so that you can feel justified in what you do. You have no idea where the people who don't like miner ganking come from. I've never played any other MMO than Eve. I suspect a lot of other people here are the same as me. We're not crybabies or spoiled brats, we're just people who don't see the sense in shooting and destroying ships that can't shoot back.

I put up with it as a fact of Eve for a long time, when there was some balance to it, but now there is none. The most experienced players in the game are focusing on shooting hulks and mackinaws as the primary activity here. You'd think there was nothing else to do. You depict yourselves as "saving Eve" so that you can act as if you have a purpose. You're teaching miners how to tank their ships. You're teaching them what Eve is really all about. Acts of self justification to make yourselves feel better about being bullies.

Once my account winds down I won't be able to respond any more, and maybe a few months after that I won't care at all and won't even bother to visit these forums any more. I wish I'd never tried this game at all. I've wasted so much time and energy here.

EvE is a Sandbox MMO, not a Theme Park MMO. If people don't enjoy the genre, they shouldn't play Player-Driven Sandbox Games.

About Hulkageddon, the Miner profession is in better shape than ever. Now the AFK Miner, BOT Miner and Theme Parker Miner is having trouble.

Lol I thought the whole point of a sand box type game like eve was the unpredictable events and player choices that shape the universe - I do not hate goons or like them, they in my eyes are Eve Elitists (amongst a lot of people on the forum) who are organised and have worked hard to gain enough in game power to influence the Eve Universe...and it works - I mean I can only imagine the size of there h**d ons right now caused by the grief they have caused....and it works. I say hats off to them...if something effects you so much that you have to rage then maybe you should take a break and go outside...the vast amount of goons pretty much sums up the time they have on there hands and probably wont go away anytime soon.

If you cant beat them (which is always a possibility if enough players get fed up and band together ---just saying), maybe you should join the pastey overlords of eve and help them shape the universe as some claim they are doing - seems to be working a little so far.

As for CCP..they have provided the tools and foundations for players to create epic stories and outcomes in the galaxy - End of the day its a sandbox and they go home to their families...im sure they will step in when it goes to far.

Im not sure what side I would fight on if it ever came to it..but I am proper enjoying the Story.

I love looking at the high and might Vets belittling people and the trolls/eve anarchists ranting at other players - Nothing like watchign a pair of T*ts bounce :)

Ignorance seems to be a big problem in highsec.

Other MMOs are 'theme park' MMOs. WoW is a theme park, you go from one handcrafted fake and contrived themed zone to another. http://thenoobcomic.com/index.php?pos=225

The player is guided around the theme park and they go on rides and get rewarded with epic lewt. They have no influence or control over the world, PvP is optional and/or instanced, it's largely pointless because even if you do die you don't lose anything in the process. Eve is the opposite of this, yet people come here and play the game in the same way they would play WoW.

So that's what he means by theme parker.

Basically you should be playing WoW

Anyway, I always thought the sandbox metaphor was interesting. Interesting because where there are sandboxes there are pedos. I think it fits the universe of Eve well as a metaphor.
