I can not understand why real people still mining in highsec, it's safer in 0.0 and much much more profitable. So if you really want to mine apply to any bigger 0.0 alliance tell them you are a dedicated miner and you will be in seconds.

problem is that being safe in 0.0 involves "not going AFK" which is surely a difficult proposition for your average hisec miner

Maybe but even in 0.0 you can go semi afk, you will be in a fleet with a squad or wing commander, in case of emergency he will warp you to a POS. Sure the squad and wing commander has to pay attention to intel and neuts in system but how hard is that. As a side note you can easily make any system into a mining heaven just upgrade the indu level to 4 or 5 and hidden belts will pop out like nothing even more lucrative and even more safe.

One could go so far as to say that Goons have, yet again, saved Eve.

Actually it's very, very pathetic that all the content that can be brought to this game is about ganking random miners.

I don't know how this is saving EvE. It's more like adding some fantastic tomato on a turd and then say you saved pizzas.

Yeah you will be slammed in a renter pet with no stations, 1 POS anchored to an atmospheric gases moon and demanded some billions a month just for being there.

Possibly, perhaps even probably.

It's been explained that CCP's vision for null is as a place where some players can exercise power over others.

This is the game you pay for. No surprises here.

That might be the case 6months ago, right now 0.0 miners are a precious good, you don't have to sell yourself short. I know several guys which rented a system (500m per month) that has no worth at all upgraded the indu level to 5 and just happily farming the hidden belts.
So your implication that 0.0 miners are better slaves is wrong.

Dear CCP,

Please do not buff the Hulk. Rather, give us the natural response to such lawlessness, give us the technology of active defense. Not after-the-fact repair, not three command ships, maybe, in a mining fleet. Give players a way, if they band together, to prevent an alpha strike. Do not reduce the danger, but increase the opportunity for teamwork.

Give us a new ship and new modules for intercession. https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=97610

Regards,

Valerie

Nice move, so hulk removal is set to become a full time profession? Maybe pay for a splash banner advertising this turn of events?

Also I see the badly written impotent rage posts have already started.

In hindsight my post should have had more psssshhhh

indeed just like when there was the completely blanced AOE DD... you could just pvp in a maxed HP BS...

i mean it was fun for the titan pilot to kill 100+ ships in one go so why is it wrong for a desi to kill a hulk in one go?

The Hulk should be a specialized ship. It probably should be weak, vulnerable and tempting. But the miner would have three of his buddies in the field with him flying Aegis destroyers to actively defend from gankers. Buffs to solo mining are not the answer. Corpmates ought to be able to intercede if they choose to. Except nothing in the game functions in such a manner that allows you to get in the way of incoming fire for another. It's a gap in the game.

Have a handful of guys sitting in destroyers fend off the initial alpha. In fleets, they become the initial defensive shell that must be cracked with frigates. Bigger role for noobs, better reason for teamwork. Mining solo would be asking for it, at that point.
