It is not.

You align, if the FC is competent enough makes fleet warp to "x", you land and start targeting once again if the FC is competent enough to link in fleet history (faster targeting for members) and has DBRB just said "blap" stuff in that order.

If this is considered as gameplay then playing some pvp rogue or shadow in wow requires a a tremendous QI above general Eve player.
It's a lot more than just let "stuff" being donne by others (FC) and at least one dozen more skills used for fights. But they also have dumb down stuff like click&win.

Eve it's absolutely not complicated, it's just tedious, requires numbers to succeed and very little personal skill.

Pretty much this. I have no time to play EVE at the moment, let along dedicate the time needed to be an active members of a space holding alliance.

Man, listening to that FC was painful. I doubt I could do that for an entire op, turned off the video after about a minute.

It was quite difficult to watch and listen to. Typically, I can't stand the videos with just music blasting, I like to hear the chatter, but that was miserable.

I know nothing about FC'ing, but shouldn't he be giving general orders to subordinate squadrons who then actually pick the target? Or for these battles does EVERYONE shoot the same poor sap? Because... if that's the case, that's too bad.

After seeing that, is there any way you can say, without lying, that you don't want to die for your space empire? I doubt it. Nullsec is the ultimate in player driven content, and once you get a taste of it you will never want to leave.

Instead of crunching on rocks and grinding missions you can be a soldier in an epic battle where empires are born and die, where your every action can make all the difference in the world.

Try it.

I know it's nice to gold coat stuff.

What happens instead is that you become just an umpteenth warm body in the hands of moon goo puppeteers. Here is your epic: to be a lowly servant of somebody else swimming in riches in your face.

Wow that looks...boring.

What did the average pilot do during that battle? Orbit an anchor and shoot primary? It's that pretty much the MO of incursions?

I'll stick to small gang warfare.

Guild Wars 2 PvP is 1000 times better than the quality of EvE blobbing. Only saving grace in EvE are small roams.

EvE PvP is too long to setup, too long to find something to kill and that won't insta-cyno 800 supercaps.

No fun elements like personal positional tactics, no personal line of sight relevance, no subtle personal tricks (FCs do have theirs though).
No real collision detection bar some 1990 half broken "collision spheres" that only work some times. Plus ships stop like they are swimming in water. Nuff said.

EvE PvP can be played by damn clickers, the WORST in the PvP industry, who would lose to any competitive PvP game baddie.

I have played in 0.0 blobs, it was a snooze + lag fest. Only saving grace was our FC, when he'd finally get drunk and started singing then we'd do some epic deeds, but still within the obsolete PvP gameplay of EvE.

That looks like the most boring PVP video I've ever seen... I'll stick to non-blobby highsec/wormhole PVP, thanks.

Greyscale Dash has 5 losses and zero kills listed on Battleclinic, this sums up her viewpoint, she needs cannonfodder, but is not willing to be cannonfodder.

I'd love to sit there watching little red x's while some nerd chants targets on Vent. You seriously think this is good gameplay?

Maybe it's compelling at the strategic level. How many players get to plan that bit? One? Five?

Personally, I'd rather play my own "eve extistence", where I call all the shots, intead of being a little drone in somebody else's game, but heck it's a sandbox, go ahead and do what you want to.

I call this brilliant, award winning, gameplay.

It is the most emergent, complex, gameplay I've ever encountered in an MMO.

You clearly need to play more PVP games, EVE is no different then any other MMO really. Sure it has more Sandbox features but its not complex. Once you know the mod's and ships its all about knowing the counters and all that takes its time and effort.

DAOC was way more fun PVP everyday of the week, **** Zek PVP in Everquest is more fun then PVP in EVE.

Man I hated DAoC PVP for some reason. I mean, I'd spend several minutes running with the zym and then get smoked by a pack of those floating vampire players - I forget what they were called. The only fun I was was playing one of those minotaur-headed characters - this was long ago and for a short time so I forget the names of everything. My ex was a hardcore DAoC vet who might still be playing it if they haven't shut out the lights yet. My bullhead dude's name was "Peoplefighter" and the casters used to run when they saw him coming. That was enjoyable yet I shortly left DAoC after that.

PVP with a beast spec hunter in WoW was enjoyable if not for the win, but for the sheer enjoyment of watching them getting chewed up while they tried to find your shadow-melded NE. I think they nerfed that, but have not been back since the end of 2007.

EvE PVP has the potential to be great, but only because I think this game has a hard-core following and so long as the FiS portion is not affected, there's no "gold ammo" or MT involved, CCP has the balls to try new stuff. Balls in MMO development is always a good thing so long as they don't end up on your chin.

Perhaps you'd prefer to play a single player game instead of this subscription based single sharded unified open world PvP MMO? Because you're taking up server resources which could be used by us when we actually play the game as CCP advertises it.

Perhaps, you could realise that you can work with other people, without having someone else telling you what to do all the time. Perhaps you should go and find a game where everyone agrees with having only one style of game play - yours.

I can safely say I don't want to be part of that. Plus I have lived in null so im not talking from no experience.

It doesnt help when they call primaries I end up being the first one to die (CURSE YOU ALPHABET)

Now, more than ever, we need a dislike button.
