So far Goons have made me tons of money, if you destroy my game like that, keep going!

Wow, been going on for quite a few pages now.

Just for that, 8/10. Not enough emotion for a 9 or 10 though.

A server where there would be just one system with a massive veldspar roid. Throw in all the miners from the current server so they can all mine that huge rock until their brains starts melting.

Sure!! I would support that!

Eve is a single shard universe, it will always be so. Regardless if there are 10,000 subs or 10,000,000,000 subs, one game, one universe, one EVE, period.

They already have alternate universes within EvE that don't need extra severs.

The borg arrive and take on the goons.

What? Is everyone afraid CCP will read this OP and go, "Hey! Why didn't we think of this?"
I've got this bridge in San Francisco for sale, cheap. Send me ten bill ISK and it's yours.

Paradise is like where you are right now, only much, much better.

I think they would just create 'quick character transfer' technology that would just let you fly between the different universes. So the single shard system isn't broken but more space is created for people to do stuff.

Either that or just add more systems.

Hypothetically, what if CCP were to decide in the future that there are enough Eve subscribers that additional servers would be better. Each server will have a different twist on the gameplay mechanics to offer tatical/gameplay variety amongst the servers. What "alternative universes" of Eve would you like to see and how do you think the changes would effect the gameplay?

Here's mine:

Server 1: Tranquility

Server 2: Anarchy:
-No local in Null sec.
-No super caps
-No T2 BPOs
Effect: probably the Eve that most players have been asking for a long time.

Server 3: Eternity
-no microwarp drives
-no webbers
-no 100MN AB T3s (T3 would only fit 10MN ABs)
Effect: not sure, but curious

What's yours?

so if I go to an alternate universe will I find a version of me with a goatee..and tribbles running wild on my ship?

why do people always think the alternate universe thing emans evil clones?

people just dont get it that WE are the evil universe. and on that note, we need **** Dastardly moustaches and supervillain goatees added to the character creator.

IMHO at 5k-15k online, Eve plays just fine... actually it plays better if you ask me (although some would disagree)

I was there when there were 5k-15k players online in EvE. It was too empty, it didn't quite work.

That low a number of people on the server would require NPC's to support the system and that is simply a deal breaker.

I was there too. IMHO the game was more fun and it worked just fine. Low sec was dangerous, but still not permacamped to the point that soloing wasn't suicide. I remember when I routinely could jump from Amarr empire 23 jumps into Stain in an indy for ammo and supply runs and make it most of the time (though it was hairy still and got the blood pumping). There were no jump freighters so supply runs were old fashion indy and wits through null sec. Blob warfare was still used, but wasn't the norm. It was more fun in those days IMHO. Don't know what your talking about NPC "support the system", the player economy was as vibrant as ever and profit margins much better as the markets weren't saturated by low-balling 0.01er.

Those were the days.

Hmm bring this subject up again in another 10 years and see then if we have enough subs to open another server?
I am thinking based upon historic subs it will never happen. Other MMO's come and go they come and go often enough to keep other people busy enough that they do not have time to hang out here.

One server

  1. All local like WormSpace
  2. No jump gates
  3. No deagressing to dock. Once you engage as long as someone keeps some form of aggression on you, you are committed.
  4. Bigger systems with more places to hide and play games
  5. more of the system used for sigs to appear
  6. dscan lowered to 7au
  7. getting podded means you loose 500k skill points every time.

Just in the short time I've been around I have seen massive population rises. I would really like to see them expand the Eve universe, but I hope they do it in the form of wormholes. The rest of the game is just boring. Local wrecks the game as far as I'm concerned.
