I'm a nullsec PvPer and FC and to be quite frank I wouldn't want to be in a blob of that size, I don't see how it's fun.

46DP-0 final timer was a 6 hour lagfest slideshow that was the culmination of at least 2 weeks of ass-busting work to get to that point. I personally decided that is far too much commitment to put into a game, and IMHO they need to rework sov mechanics so that the resulting fights are much shorter...perhaps force player forces to spread themselves a little thinner to defend multiple objectives so the fights are smaller and end quicker and we get a decisive victory, moving the frontlines a little more often.

So close...

Everytime i pvp, i get those little tingles, even still.

At first, was.....something i wasnt interested in either.

But a year ago, one of my corp mates found easy access to null that is hardly travelled, we moved out there with our jump clones.

We have had a lot of fun, and we make just about the same amount of money in null that we did in hi sec.

Point is, like in life, give it a try, if you do and dont like it, no harm.

Three minutes was enough to convince me that I want no part of it.

Boring just doesn't cover it, never mind the fact that I barely understood 10% of what the FC was saying - at first I wasn't even sure he was speaking English.

Sit at my computer and do what someone else tells me to? No thanks.

Perhaps you'd prefer to play a single player game instead of this subscription based single sharded unified open world PvP MMO? Because you're taking up server resources which could be used by us when we actually play the game as CCP advertises it.

CCP, you have only yourselves to blame for OP's asshattery.

After seeing that, is there any way you can say, without lying, that you don't want to die for your space empire? I doubt it. Nullsec is the ultimate in player driven content, and once you get a taste of it you will never want to leave.

Instead of crunching on rocks and grinding missions you can be a soldier in an epic battle where empires are born and die, where your every action can make all the difference in the world.

Try it.

lag... blob... etc etc etc etc etc

a fight that goes "hey ill bring (mixed small fleet)"

"Ill counter that with 46 titans and 350 supercaps"

Yeah Ill stay where those cant go and mine in my covetor and NOT get ganked.

I see no CCP advertising that says "Come and play a game where you just do what someone else tells you."

What I see is advertising of a game where I can interact with as many other players as I choose - plus a few who might choose to interact with me whether I like it or not.

To me, that video is one long yawn (assuming it carried on in like vein after the first 3 mins). I can't conceive of being so lacking in imagination as to tolerate that, even for a few minutes.

So no, I don't want a single player game - I want an interesting multi-player game.

And the scenario in that video isn't it.

And for all who are wondering how long the whole op took...it was about an hour.

Um... no. Tbqh, the only nullsec entity I'd genuinely want to be involved with is the Fairlight Corp of RnK, and the only reason for that is so I could listen the beautiful voices of Alazais and Princess Aricia. Seriously, I could listen to those two recite the telephone directory and it would be like aural sex to me.

Wait, what was the question again?

I am in nullsec right now - *ALONE* - unsupported, and far from home, and having some rather epic moments.

The whole epic battle thing does draw in the people who watched a lot of Star Wars and Star Trek (I think the DS9 series had the best in fleet fights).

But what gets dangled in front of players and what players end up with when going to 0.0 are two different things.

And CCP is the last entity to blame, by the way. It's the players who make going to 0.0 the way it is, and why a lot of players won't go there.

And yet it's much of the talk from people in 0.0 who claim that the attitudes of players, the carebears in particular, must change.

This is in fact reciprocal.

My solution: let all ships dial in a system to system warp and then we'll see the end of gate camps, the Great Wall of Carebear (bears on BOTH sides) and some real solo and small gang PVP. Also make resources finite, with roid belts in highsec that can be mined out of existence - or at least requiring some months to come back, and mission agents that run out of work, plus tech moons that can be mined flat and require a long time to replenish, and then we will see some real inferno.

Until then, it's all just bored gate campers pulling a Jan Brady in the forums while pretending they liked their decision to move to 0.0 and sit on a gate all day for overlords who could care less about them while raking in the big ISK.

Shot-caller clearly drank too much Red Bull(tm).
Either that, or is a panicky dork.

Whichever, glad I *wasn't* a part of that, or there'd have been a serious case of 'blue-on-blue.'

Sorry OP, your video isn't compelling and I have absolutely no interest in massive lag, blinky red boxes, huge blobs of almost exactly the same ships, and someone with an annoying voice repeating things 7.3 times.

Personally, if the FC really needs to repeat stuff more than once, then he/she needs to find people who know how to listen properly.

That kind of gameplay repulses me because it's basically a single-player game for the FCs. They call all the shots, and anyone who steps out of line gets yelled at. There's very little in the way of excitement without shifting tactical situations. That's why small-scale PvP is much more entertaining. Too bad it's mostly dead thanks to the fact that the nullsec alliances are so rich that they can afford to throw dozens of capships at their enemies with reckless abandon.

OP is being a moron for posting such a laggy nagfest. This is a much better video to impress carebears:
