I find it SOooooo much easier now to move items, filter between low, mid, high modules at the click of a button also no more multiple windows where they all stack up on top of one another making clutter, I can just D&D between my ship and item menu. I love the new explorer view and I think this is such an improvement over the old system. Oh I need to find all my most valuable items. POOF one button click! awesome!

For all the whiners complaining about the new system, you are so hopelessly attached to your old ways of doing things and I think you are not giving the new system a chance at all. It has so many advantages over the old system if you actually take the time to learn the new one.

It's a great improvement and I just want to express my thanks for making something really useful.

Every day in every way I improve my skills and get better.

I haven't seen anyone bash CCP for the new stealth bombers. Are you saying everyone thinks that's a ****-up too.

"Tomahawks?"

"----in' A, right?"

"Trouble is, those things cost like a million and a half each."

"----, you pay me half that and I'll hump in some c4 and blow the ---- out of it my own damn self."

that's because they are awesome, also they are addressing the issues with the new system.
It is not perfect obviously but it's a much better idea then what we had and I have FULL confidence that it will be ironed out.
I see the potential of what it can do and I am very excited about it, I think people should make suggestions on how to improve to help CCP and not bash them every single time they don't like something new. You make the game better not CCP.

There are even a Dev or two from CCP that wouldn't +1 the new Inventory Unification. They know they "screwed the pooch" with this one, and they are trying to fix it.

Not sure why they don't just roll the patch back on this, but maybe that would break other things. Biggest issues I have are:

1. In Space: Need a Separate Cargo Window for Wrecks / Cans we are looting.

2. In Space: Ship Cargo needs to be accessed from right clicking on ship (old way) or by the Inventory Icon (New Way). Allow for both options.

3. Docked: Separate Ship Hanger from Inventory Cargo Holds (Old Way).

One thing they did not change, and they should have: Allow for Right Click, Select All, Auto Repackage.

Before i flame you or do anything else, i want to ask you a few question s about yourself to establish exactly what activities in eve you do that you feel this new UI does better then the last one.

1 How long have you been playing?
2 Do you have more then 10 cans in a station
3 Do you manage a corp (of more then 1 person)
4 do you mine
5 do you salvage (and/or loot)
6 do you manage a pos
7 have you ever lived in a wh
8 do you fit many ships? (at one time)
9 around how many entries do you have in your assets tab?

Its not possible to please all the people all the time, but it sure as hell is possible to Displease all the people, most of the time.

Oh jesus everyone is such a little razor blade here, eager to cut and make people bleed. I'm saying that the new system is an improvement, yes I am taking into account the new flaws, what I said is that CCP will fix them and you will have an even better system then before for managing your stuff.

Remember PI? yeah that sucked at first too but it improved and I'm sure the new inventory will get fixed and be even better then before.

It took a little getting used to, but I am finding it more efficient that the old way of doing things. It could probably use a little refinement, like opening straight to the ship hanger when clicked on for example, but I see it as a definite step forward.

"Wow, that internet argument completely changed my fundamental belief system," said no one, ever.

so im guessing that you arent going to answer me, i know, i know, im a real quick one.

If you had read my other posts, (which i understand if you dont) you might realize that i tend to be one of the nicer forum warriors. or you may decide otherwise.

My questions were illustrative of the issues that were hashed out in the first few days of sis testing. the lack of actual customizations, windows forgetting their positions nee, any memory in the windows, the problems of tree based window management for combat and/or missions. load times for large inventories, corp assets loading issues (including the one that got fixed about hanger viewing roles)

before the last patch, you would have experienced many of these problems. there are many more. before you call everyone out for being a whiner, experience in game would have shown you and, had you tested it on sisi, experience there would have shown you how little has changed.

go back and read the time stamps of the test feedback threads posts. most of these issues that CCP is very sorry about, were first voiced weeks ago. before this system went live. by a multitude of players.

most of the interesting functionality that were included in the new UI are nice if you do not manage large inventories on a regular basis, undock at any point, or want to see into multiple containers at once.

Since the last patch, it has gown easier to manage inventories, but it was only when the "I hate the new UI" threads started popping up outside of the test feedback forum and the dev blog response page that any action was really done to address the problems stated within the original dev blog response thread.

Your "Everything is shiny" thread smells of a dev posting on an alt to drum up support for ignoring product testers feedback. or you could just be a fanboi who hasnt read any of the actual threads, only the titles.

Please though answer the questions. I am interested in which activities you believe the new UI is best suited over the old one. and which activities you did before and after the expansion as a comparison of actual utility.

Just like i do not comment on the FW changes being good or bad, as i am not a FW player, can you actually make a call on all aspects that the UI touches?

Edit. Yes, yes i am calling you out.

REJOYCE! You CAN!

1. click on the little PLUS symbol, left hand side next to "my filters" to the right.
2. click on the pulldown tab
3. Choose estimated unit price greater then and input a value

You can also add an additional filter for another estimated unit price less then and set a new value!

Save this filter and you just made a value inventory BUTTON!

click it the next time you wish to filter for items above 200 million and below 500 million!!!!

I know what you mean but this is just as good! By making three or four filters you can quickly scan for the items you want!!!

I think he ment sort by like meta , size, type or name. the addition of filters, many filters, seems like a work around for something that is already being estimated but not presented.

also this explanation sounds a lot like how the devs answer questions, its "oh here is a work around to do approximately what you wanted, but not actually what you wanted"

much more importantly, can i have an option to turn off the isk calculation? i suspect that that is one of the bigger lag factors in moving large amounts of discrete items in the inventory from one container to another.

Why are you hoarding so much stuff? The problem is not eve or the inventory but your inability to let go of your sentimental attachment to virtual items. Seriously how much stuff do you have that it's that slow.
