I'm a little confused about how supply and demand works in EVE

How do you get things that are listed in the market but there aren't any, and there are no blueprints. Noone I have asked knows how to get them and I can't find much of anything I am looking for in the Eveopedia. I guess I don't understand the point of having an item that doesn't exist.

It would help if you gave an example.

But, from what you are asking, as far as I can figure, you are looking at special items.

Eve has legacy items that are no longer made. They don't remove them from the game but allow them to filter out through explosion/theft/rage quitting. There are specialty items such as the ships given out for AT prizes and specials like the Quafe Iteron from fanfest.

Not everything is made from blueprints. Some items are only obtainable as rare drops from NPCs, some are only purchaseable from the LP store.

Just because you don't see any on the market doesn't mean the item doesn't exist. It just means that nobody is trying to sell that item in your region right now.

There are also many items in Apparel category which have never been in game. Yet. CCP just might add them later.
