Where are my mission rats?

I've had three missions in a row now that have spawned zero rats. First room empty and gate unlocked. Second room empty. Get near objective, nothing. Scoop and wait, nothing. Is there a mission rat union strike today? Anyone else experiencing this?

Their afraid of you. Or are cloaked in stealth bombers waiting for you to drop your shield boosters and will pounce on you like Simba on Zazu during the morning report.

I'd file a petition though just in case it is a bug and not a pouncing lesson.
