How can I turn off the new cumbersome inventory "system" and go back to the old system?

Shocked

I go away for a day or two. What in the %$#@ has happened?!

I can't load cargo.
I can't find cargo.
I can't even find the corp hangars in my Orca's anymore. All trade for me has come to a screeching halt.

I suppose I'll figure it out sooner or later, but right now I'm shutting EVE off.
Then I'm going to pour a drink and play something that functions. Personal time is precious.

no you actually don't - it takes longer to set up and it's not permanant; the window reconsolidates when you leave station.. and there is no single button to reopen them.. this is time consuming. it might have been ok if the cargo bay was not part of this monster.. but it resets into the system and therte is no easy way to reopen it. The old way was better.

The cumbersome nature of walking in station is what most people objected to when that came out.. this is just more of the same.

obviously you haven't tried to move al lot of sorted inventory back and forth. Yes it is a horror.

do this: open your multi window tool. open a container and keep the hanger open at the same time - open another 4 containers and keep all of them opened at the same time. sort by dragging items from your cargo bays, orca hangers, and regular hanger to each individual container.. and you have to do it all in less than a minute or your 10 man op will complain that you are not boosting them for a long period of time. and there are no tabs anymore. they removed those from the orca hangers where they made more sense than what we have now....

It took me 30 seconds to open an empty cargo hold a few minutes ago... good luck.

really? try that with 3 cans at once. I don't care about looting.. I care about managing item movement.

for the record CCP, when I said I liked complicated systems... this is not what I meant.

I don't like the lag either... but in truth solid rocket fuel does leave a trail in space in real life... it's not as easy to see in space but it's there..

Are you on some tight time limit for playing the game? You can't fight from all that clicking?
How big inventory do you have, or you are some kind of collectors and have items from 3 years ago?

no, this is just a buggy UI, that should be holding it's position when you dock and such. But it doesn't because it is broken, it is still however a much better item window, if that one issue was fixed.

I took what you had to say to heart.. and hoped for the best after reading CCP dev blog where they claimed to be fixing things - I thought, "maybe I w\ill warm up to it after things get fixed" .. but trying to run a mining op today the headaches were too much to over come.. I am back to wanting a full retraction of this feature. what it does to the orca is unmanageable for a large mining forman.

I've finally run into a rather annoying problem with it. I was moving a large quantity of items into a container last night and it rendered my client useless for SEVERAL MINUTES. This is an activity that previously would have taken seconds. Why? Because it moved the stacks one at a time, each move recalculating total volume and market value for the entire inventory. Probably for the contents of the container as well. This is a hugely annoying delay.

Also, please stop opening my cargohold when I dock and click inventory. That was not the previous functionality.

Also, please re-add direct access to all ship bays/holds in the context menu while in hangar. I want to be able to right-click my orca and jump straight to the SMA or corp hold, not open the cargohold so that I can open another hold.

Also, Let me drag ships from the left-side pane to the SMA.

I *like* the interface, except where it changes or removes previous functionality or creates delays. The fix isn't to revert to the old one, the fix is to debug the new one. QUICKLY.

Ok I understand you are needing to do something to make it look like you are trying to improve things.. but this is not an improvement.

For people who have to move a lot of items around.. its a nightmare. It's slower... it makes moving things from your cargo to item hanger a mess.. double clicking on the background no longer brings up the cargo bay (something we fought for with the "door/ship spinning" thing) What, you thought it was really only about "ship spinning"?

I need to be able to maintain separate windows for draging and dropping... without them closing back into the microsoft monster system window whenever I leave the station.

so.. new inventory system .. I don't like it. at all. The old way was not that big a problem. This one change will be harder on mining than hulkageddon 5.

Well you have two options

unsub and send me your stuff

deal with it

no you have missed quite a few options... but I'm pretty sure if it ever came down to me "unsubbing" you would be the absolute last person to get any of my stuff. sorry, I'd rather delete it.

I just want to say that the new Inventory system is a BIG POS! I demand that you put the old system back in place! The new system is not thing but a Big Pain in the A$$, it takes to long to load and it brings crap up that I don't want to see! My Alt is in a Rorqual and I can't do what I used to do! Change it back to the old way now!!!!!!!

well you would lose that bet.. I have never botted anything. but I do run fairly large size mining ops. and regularly multibox... not afk.

1) it is an improvement
2) u cant turn it off
3) i think they shud add the OPTION to revert back to old inventory not remove it

No, no time limit usually, but I am trying to boost and run mining ops as effiectively as I can . I play generally every day - some times long hours.. I do have huge inventories that have to be kept sorted because I support many players.. as well as myself and alts. I also move a lot of freight.

While the search feature would have been welcomed in the "assets" tool, they are not handy for me in the cargo windows.

I have items from 7 years ago; but that's not really relevant to the discussion is it. I have many station containers not all belonging to me that I sort into for other mining or missioning players.

1) I disagree
2) That is too bad
3) If they do add the option I am concerned that the lag on the windows will remain if they do not remove the bulky added code as well.
