This is how I imagine it. The difference I always imagined between myself and a "WiS person" is I would be happy with just this, and the graphics don't have to be revolutionary either.

Why they didn't build the wis gameplay first, then the graphics, I'll never understand.

well the graphics arnt the problem the hardest part (the avatars) is allready done the rest is just textures not meshes really they kinda did it as ultra early alpha and hadnt fully defined WiS's purpose therefore when eve players called them out on it... they didnt have an answer for its purpose i think

this thread will continue even after it becomes inactive as when im online ill bump it up the list so it gets more views. This isnt just for likes or something to do its to see what people want and to see if it can make CCP see something tht hasnt been voiced untill now ideally we want around 1000 likes therefore it gets noticed more easily and is a real voice par say

if people want to voice what they want WiS to be go ahead idm itll give a better impression of what people want

The graphics being used in the CQ are some of the best I have seen in recent games, especially considering how insignificant this portion is to the gameplay in EVE. That's the here-and-now though, in a couple of years they'll be average and add a few more and they'll be outdated.

Spaceships are and should always be the main focus for the EVE dev team and investing a considerable amount of assets in developing a completely seperate engine for a feature that isn't part of the core gameplay doesn't make too much sense. However, with the advent of DUST 514, which hopefully uses the same graphics engine as the CQ, I don't really see any reason why a gradual expansion of the WiS experience would be absent in near-future expansions.

I'm hopeful that CCP are going to continue concentrating on FiS for some time yet. But I think once the game's healthy again (I fear it will have suffered another dip in this UI fiasco). they need to deliver on what was promised - a more rounded science fiction experience.

Mass-Effect-ish, graphics wise, WiS needs to be another medium for player interaction, with some meaningful ladders of achievement of its own, and maybe even a bit of story and some missions involving both WiS and FiS (e.g. investigating something in a station, which escalates to a fight in space - also, hopefully, something for Explorers, in the way of avatar-explorable abandoned ancient ruins, etc., etc. We could have tricorder-like devices!!! Big smile)

And please, for god's sake, just give us standard MMO controls, or controls tweakable as we prefer. The current system is a bit, ahem, idiosyncratic.
