My point was this is a game, ok a neiche game but still a game, and if you want to actualy have fun, the game mechanics penalise you for it

Yes. Because "I'm having fun" is an objective concept and everybody does it the same way.

You are not having fun, but not because of the game mechanics, but because you don't have enough balls to go and PvP with what? A billion or less in implants?

The game is not to blame. You are not willing to take risks and complain that you can get no action, when it's not the case.

Ok what action is this? 1v1? or going out solo ganking and the only likely fight you would find is against a fleet, whos members are all only in said fleet because they as you said "don't have enough balls to go and pvp" alone

Just look at SiSi

the ships modules etc cost 1 ISK.... and yet people still wont even enter a FFA without a fleet and even spam local for fleets

So i thought I'd take my pilgrim character out for a spin as it has 20days left on its subscription before it expires and boy ti wont be reniewed.

Logged it on, laughed at the numbers of people online, then thought to myself, do i want to give CCP the numbers on their server, or even the impression that this guy is happy. The answer was no.

I then thought about what i would be doing, a few wormhole ganks, i realised i was in my +5 clone with other +6% dmg implants all maxed out for speedy skill training. Now i certainly didnt want to loose this clone as its a few bils worth, and i certainly didnt want to jump clone into a unimplanted clone and vanish into the wormholes for a while, thus reducing the characters skill training on that all valuable 20days left. So i reached the conclusing taking all this into account, to come onto the forums and make another moan/whine/imbored thread, as even with the fullest intention to actualy have FUN on this GAME it was quickly squashed by game mechanics TwistedTwistedTwisted

Ah yes, more attention seeking behavior. I don't know quite how to put this, but I believe you may have a psychiatric problem. You are showing all of the classic symptoms of somone suffering from Borderline Peronality Disorder. I've been finding more and more of them as of late on the EVE-O forums. As I've said to the other people suffering from this affliction, if the symptoms continue or you become a danger to yourself and/or others, please seek out the nearest psychiatric facility and ask for help. Inappropriate attention seeking, wild mood swings, and an overall inability to carry on normal relationships with people are definitely warning signs.

It might be a good idea to find the others on this forum who are suffering from this terrible psychological affliction, and form a support group for each other. It should be easy to find them.

In the meantime, please see your doctor and get on a strict regiment of mood stabilizers, anti-depressants, anti-psychotics, and possibly some anti-anxiety medication. This should help treat the symptoms, though unfortunately there is no cure for Borderline Personality Disorder.

I do not like the men on this spaceship. They are uncouth and fail to appreciate my better qualities. I have something of value to contribute to this mission if only they would realize it. - Bill Frug

The problem being stated is not about pvp game mechanics. The problem here is that an item that is meant to be a buff is being viewed as "the precious". There are a lot of people that let small **** like this get in the way of doing anything fun in game, which is killing ****.

You have to ask yourself, is getting a few more SP per day really worth not trying to have fun in eve? You plan on leaving the game because you have got it in your head that these extra SP is what the game is about, but at the same time they are what making you leave the game. Since they are making you leave the game then clearly those SP are not that important as you are willing to let yourself unsub, thus negating all the extra Sp you pulled in by having the +5 imps in your noggin. Since the SP are failing to keep you around they clearly are not that important. Something else must be more important in a game for you to stick around, and you must ask yourself why protecting something that is not worth sticking with the game is going to take priority over the good parts of the game.

The problem is not the pvp mechanics, if anything the problem is with the implants and the false importance that you have placed within their constant use and safety. Solution? One of the most liberating things you can do in eve is to lose a set of imps that you felt so worried about not getting the use and maintaining the safety of. The only need to truly maintain the imps is if you are training an alt while in hisec, or just starting the game and plan on staying in hisec. of course after a point there is no need for imps or even skill training if you are just going to stay in hisec. I know because I had hit that point on a main and realized that SP does not really mean much anymore beyond that. Maybe a few percentage points on an obscure skill that is rarely used, but if I cannot use the skills then what does it matter if I am getting more SP dumped into them?

You are paying from EVE, but why you pay for it?

To get skills or to play game?

On some point you will have enough skills to fly what you want with decent skills and you do not really know what to train next, only skills to train is weapon specs to lvl5 or something as marginal skills, so your current phase is just phase which is soon over and problem solved.

OK. I'll bite.

First of all, you were talking about a Pilgrim. Not only a worthy all-in-one exploration vessel (if you enjoy scanning and running sites and killing NPCs, to reap the rewards). It's only a very good cloaky ganker.

With it, you can risk it into 0.0 or Low Sec, prowl the space there looking for locals and choose your victims. People DO go alone for many things: Planetary interaction, mining, hauling without a proper setup, ratting... You can look for Hulks near your High sec of choice and declare a few wars to industry corporations, looking for careless miners who don't check or don't care about local.

Hell, use a Locator and find me. I'm a terrible player and easy to gank. Then come here and boast about it to no end, man!

If nothing can convince you that fun can be (and in fact, is) achieved in the game, I kindly suggest you contract said Pilgrim to me. I promise you I'll put it to good use.

This is a fallacy brought about by your population sample; you reference a server with no consequences and then think it odd the people choosing to play there are averse to loss or risk?
