I have looked at the forum resources available for installing EFT on the mac. The posts that I can find seem old, inactive or locked and either way seem full of tales or 'Woe' Has anyone had any success with this recently or can point me in the right direction?

I have followed the links in the resources thread above but it takes you to old links.

Can't speak on EFT, but would suggest trying PYFA. It's been updated for inferno and has a mac dmg for easy install.

I will second the suggestion of PYFA. I've converted to using PYFA on both my Windows and Mac installs! It understands the EFT format.

Another vote for Pyfa. Its interface is very similar to EFT and all the concepts translate directly. Pretty much interchangeable, though the ship-selection menu is a little different. It's also well-updated and runs without a hitch. And IMO the interface is a little prettier. You can even export files between Pyfa installations on mac and windows (I do this using Dropbox as an intermediary so I can **** around with fits at work and at home and the changes carry over).

EFT does have slightly better character management, though. Very slightly. Another feature that EFT has which Pyfa is missing is the ability to right-click a module and change a skill level which affects it, to see if, for example, skilling Advanced Weapon Upgrades V will let you squeeze module X onto ship Y given the rest of the fit. You can do that sort of thing in Pyfa but it takes more steps (copy character, change skill).

Greetings

Downloaded the Pyfa from the site, went to run it and got an error that linked me to an out of date MacPython site. What did I do wrong?
