In this case, it says that they're pushovers. They're apologizing as a way to appease a threat, not apologizing because they know in their hearts they did something wrong.

I have a serious question for the apologizing corp.
Instead of posting this thread - Why didn't you tell them to go f**k themselves and move to low or null sec for the war duration ?

Anything would be better than doing a thread to apologize.
Coulda just bought 500 shuttles, used disposable skillless toons with spare account slots and kept undocking into their camps all day for lolz.

500 ship loses would have been way less embarrassing than this.

Getting back to the subject at hand, It doesn't matter what really happened. What matters now is how Claws is going to be perceived for apologizing in the forums. They're going to look whipped. They're going to look like an easy mark. I wouldn't be surprised if Skeleton Crew comes back for seconds down the road, assuming someone else does not beat them to it.

If both parties felt Claws had to apologize, fine, but the smart thing was to leave it in-game. Optics have a tendancy of doing more damage than the truth. Any politician who puts his foot in his mouth over a verbal gaffe understands this very well.

We could have obviously kept this going forever, but we felt we had enough isk from Pants to cover our losses, and also everyone be given full visibilty as to why we did this, but also most importantly, understand if we did not do these things, somebody else would have. Johan was right, it was all preventable and Pants brought this down on you.
