Problem with PvP

So i thought I'd take my pilgrim character out for a spin as it has 20days left on its subscription before it expires and boy ti wont be reniewed.

Logged it on, laughed at the numbers of people online, then thought to myself, do i want to give CCP the numbers on their server, or even the impression that this guy is happy. The answer was no.

I then thought about what i would be doing, a few wormhole ganks, i realised i was in my +5 clone with other +6% dmg implants all maxed out for speedy skill training. Now i certainly didnt want to loose this clone as its a few bils worth, and i certainly didnt want to jump clone into a unimplanted clone and vanish into the wormholes for a while, thus reducing the characters skill training on that all valuable 20days left. So i reached the conclusing taking all this into account, to come onto the forums and make another moan/whine/imbored thread, as even with the fullest intention to actualy have FUN on this GAME it was quickly squashed by game mechanics TwistedTwistedTwisted

Wait till you get Cybernetics V and can fly multiple command ships.

Then... your friends wanna do a shield fleet, a few hours later they wanna do armor.

So few leadership pilots around who can use the mindlink, and you gotta tell your buds that they gotta wait a day.

OP just fit the jump clones with +3 implants, learning ones. Not expensive at all. Also use your jump clones for different areas of space you wanna play. Have your best guy in hi-sec for running missions, 1 jump clone in a certain null sec area, etc...

Implants from +5 to +3 on all your attributes adds 16 hours to a 7 day training. not a bad trade off concerning the amount of isk involved. Assuming you have cybernetics lvl 5.

Thank you for trying to be helpful. But surely with CCP pushing for more and more people to PVP which in turn will move the ecconomy along, you would of thought they would make mechanics like this helpful instead of hindering.

My point was this is a game, ok a neiche game but still a game, and if you want to actualy have fun, the game mechanics penalise you for it

You do realize that the argument for implant-derived adversity to PvP is nothing to the OTEC agreement. OTEC has resulted in the stabilization of nulsec, which should result in a lot more ships available to pew pew in high sec. The other thought, is that all the nulsec PvPers will become miners Roll.

Admittedly, if you're that worried about your training times or don't wish to risk expensive implants then yes, they can be a motivation to avoid pvp. If on the other hand you aren't obsessed with having the maximum training times then it won't. In the end it's your own choice that holds you back.

I don't want to come across as malice but you are making excuses, OP. We play this min/max game in our head, we skill our characters to max, max, max and then we figure out that the barrier was never skill shortage to begin with. It was?

motivation.

We never had a reason to do it. We still don't. If you want to jump through a wormhole and shoot someone, do it. You might blow up? So? That's not what you are doing it for though. You really don't have a reason to do it. Grief some guy? The chances of you finding a lone wormhole operator in slim to none anyway. That's not your motive.

I'm not trying to be negative. I'm just trying to flesh out the real culprit. You have no reason to do it.

The training difference between +4 and +5 implants is a handful of days over an entire year. Just buy one each for the two attributes you're training / mapped to and you've got a 40mil clone that is 80% as effective as the one you were in.

Game mechanics aren't stopping you, finding the first available excuse and doing nothing about it are.

Sure go to startbar > programs >accessorys > open dos prompt and type "format c:" hit return, and watch that progress bar slowly reach 100%. Dont fear though the progress bar is only showing your awesomeness and once you reach 100% your a level 80 pro 1337 gamer

You are unsubbing but worried about losing training time and or implants? Never really understood this extreme carebear mentality.

Yes, and no. Its a mentality of someone who might want to return to the game if its ever fixed and doesnt want to start at 0sp
