Verification Failure - Still Happening

Maybe I'm not the best at fixing things, but...

I download the eve client from the website and install, repair, reinstall and so on and so forth.

I still get the Verification Failure. It lists about 20 items that "failed to run", and three items that "File not found".

I don't have the know how to route through files and manually fix them.

How do I play the game that I pay for again?

Thanks for any help.

You may have other issues with your computer, I recommend using HDD regenerator and checking to make sure you dont have any bad sectors on your hdd. If you have a couple thats empty, you install the game, and the OS puts the files in the bad sector locations, this result can happen.

You can download HDD regenerator for free, but it only tells you if you have bad sectors and fixes 1, being free, and you have to purchase the program in order to fix the rest.

Also run memtest or windows memory diagnostic utility to check and ensure no memory errors.(these are free and dont cost a dime)

Just google/bing either of those and let us know the results.

Hey there,

Window Memory Diagnostic didn't find anything wrong.

Downloaded the HDD Regen and I don't really have $59.95 to spend on a possibility and I think they disclaimer and process are a little beyond how comfortable I am with the program.

Windows didn't find anything the matter.

Any other suggestions?

Once again,

Thank you

Windows so called chkdsk, is a joke and only really useful for registry corruption, not harddrive repair.

They have a FREE version of HDD regen, DONT buy it, just use the free version to tell you if you have bad sectors, this process depends on the size of the HDD, which in turn takes upto if not over an hour.

I prefer Spinrite myself, but no free version there, again dont purchase anything.

I am just performing the process of elimination.

Memory good, fantastic, but you gotta test the HDD for bad sectors, and please for all others reading this, dont use windows(any version, xp, vista, 7) to find and fix bad sectors.

If this process is skipped, I cannot help you further. If you have bad sectors, either fixem or buy another HDD.

If you do not have bad sectors, look at your device manager to see if any drivers have a yellow exclamation mark or red X which could indicate either a device problem(either driver or hardware wise) or its disabled. If you dont see either the yellow exclamation mark or red x, then check the event viewer log under both system and applications and only look for the errors, double click on them for more detail.

This is the best I can help given the circumstance.

This is program free download, you need to create a disk after you install it, and reboot your computer with the CD, hoping your bios has CD-rom as the first bootable device.

It cannot check it inside windows, since your using windows.(like working on a car, you cant drive and have a mechanic work on it at the same time.)

then everyone would have the issues, which none of my computers (4) nor my friends(since last night) have observed.

I am not saying that EVERYONE is having this issue, but your sample is hardly representative. Nor is mine, for that matter, but don't you think it highly unusual that two people, using two different computers, are having exactly the same issue?

Pointing out some unknown disk utility is hardly the most helpful thing either, too

This is the reason I usually dont even try to help people.....

Exactly the same issue? you both have the same 20 files that are corrupted and 3 that are missing? If that is the case, and you talked to the OP in private to see if it IS the same EXACT files, then there is a common denominator(something the both of you have done) which has created the issue.

Which at that point, I would blame the actual installer, if in fact that is what both of you have done.

So many variable go into this, take it one step at a time.

1. I didn't ask for your 'help'. So can that right there, Mr. Good Samaritan.

2. Yes, 20 files were corrupted and three were missing. Whether they were exactly the same, who knows, but coincidence is a funny thing.

3. If you skip back to my first post I did in fact indirectly blame the launcher (published by CCP)

4. Yes, I realise a lot of variables can affect a situation like this, but it's really not helped by someone throwing their weight around screaming things like 'Not helpful', and 'You must be wrong because it's not affecting my computer and that's all the statistical relevance I require'. Smile
