Copying to another computer

I have a laptop and pc, I downloaded eve for one of them but I often switch between machines so I wanted eve on both.
So I copied the folder in program files to my other machine and started the launcher. It took ages to apply patches and now at (2/4) it wants to download almost a gig of data, how come? The folder sizes are the same.
