NPE wonkiness?

So I took my alt account through the NPE. I actually took him through it because I thought I would write up a guide of sorts for the tutorial missions/career agents.

But I noticed that as I was leaving Aura (Moving Onwards), I did not have a mining laser. I never got the Civilian Miner. The rookie ship I boarded had no modules. When you dock up in a pod you are given a rookie ship with a civilian miner and a civilian gattling laser (at least for Amarr). I got a regular gun with a Multifreq crystal from Aura, but no miner. Did I miss something? Because as I was doing the career missions (starting with Balancing the Books), I was not given a civilian miner, to my recollection.

Did I mess up and misplace something? Missed a step? Should the rookie ship I board have had modules on it?

Just did the same thing a few time the past couple days with various races and none of the first rookie ship were fitted, but you can just repackage and assemble it to have it fitted like any regular rookie ship, without the 1 trit though.

I know I can. I'm thinking of someone who has no idea where their Pilot Certification Documents are.

This is one of the major faults with the NPE. CCP have been told about it repeatedly for several months but nothing has been done to correct the situation.

New players are told that they can do the career tutorials in any order, but that isn't true. If you start with the business agent you have no mining laser with which to do one of the early missions. The industry tutorial needs to be run first so you get a miner as early as possible.

At a later point you are told that the gun you have been using doesn't need any ammo and that it's time to use one that does, despite the fact that you've already been using one and don't get the ammo-less civilian gun unless you repackage your rookie ship or dock your capsule at a station where you have no ships.

Another major problem is that Aura doesn't always provide the Repair Systems skillbook when she should, so you can't fit the armour repairer when told to.

You also get rewards like expanded cargoholds and afterburners but not the skills to use them. The whole NPE needs a total re-working and it astonishes me that CCP don't focus on this obvious aid to retaining new players instead of wasting resources on non-urgent expansion content.

I've just started a new character and had intended to produce a critique to give to CCP, but I stupidly forgot to start taking notes at the beginning. Roll

Man i knew it was confusing sometimes but i never knew quite how broken the NPE is these days. If everything you say is true that really is crap. CCP you are likely loosing a large number of new customers to this amateur sillyness. Suggest you pull your thumb out and get on it..
