Is EVE Voice working for you?

Hi all

Been trying to use EvE voice last night using a USB headset by Logitech (G330).

Under the OSX environment and also in TS3 audio input (i.e. the mic) works just fine. I can not for the life of me figure out why it does not work in Eve. I tried all the different combinations in the Eve Voice tab and settings but to no avail.

Thank you for reading this and hopefully someone has a suggestion.

I have the same problem with a Sennheiser USB headset. I have to set EVE up to use the computer's built-in microphone, which sounds pretty terrible, background noise, etc.

Could be specific to USB mic inputs?

Does eve voice work without the headphones, just using the computer's built in mic and speakers?

Ive found plugging in the headphones, setting the computer to use them by default, then running eve works best.

Haven't used Eve voice in a while, but I know that I have to have the usb headset pugged in and recognized by the system before I launch Eve for the Eve client to see the headset at all.

Thanks all for their replies

Yes the USB headset is corrently identified both under osx and Eve (Eve voice -> input). But it does not transmit under Eve, works fine in TS etc.

I can't join audio channels anymore since Inferno. Up to yesterday everything was fine.

There's a whole mess of problems (not Mac specific) with chat channels and local going on right now. People not showing up in local, not going away when logging off, and missing chat windows. It probably (hopefully) is related to that.

Same problem, had no problems with eve voice pre-patch, I'm using the built in speakers/microphone with nothing plugged in. Post-patch I'm unable to join eve voice (side-click 'join Audio', doesn't do anything) and can't hear people talking either.

+1.

There is a good reason why most corps use TeamSpeak, Mumble or Ventrillo....recommend you don't stress trying to get EVE voice working, just get one of the above and recommend your corp/friends do likewise...

RVB uses Eve voice. If you think you can convince them otherwise be my guest. It's a couple thousand people though, so I'm not betting on your chances.

Any helpful suggestions?

No fleet pew pew for the moment...hope someone can enlighten us what to do.

I have found that if I switch the audio input and output settings and change back I can join audio. However, although it says I have joined audio and the red icon shows up in the tab's title bar, I cannot hear anyone speaking.

I filed a petition and I suggest everyone do the same.

This just became an issue for me. Normally I just use alliance TS. But an incursion got plopped down on my mission system, and incursion pick up fleets use eve voice.

Same here. Voice does not work since Inferno patch. I can join but cannot hear anything. I submitted a bug and they "attached it to a defect", which I believe means that they are aware of the problem and may fix it some time in the future. Since it only effects mac users, it probably that it does not rank high on their bug-list.

I got a similar reply to my report. "we know, we are working on it, will hopefully be in a patch as soon as possible". Ive seen reported bugs fixed in days, and some that do not get fixed for years. But eve voice is a fairly big part of the game, so hopefully it will get fixed fast.
