Why would you go alienware anyway ? I could almost (only almost) see an attraction when it came to laptops in the past (not at all lately, with all the cheaper and actually better alternatives), but for a desktop ? No way, not back in the day, not now. If you're going to spend any significant amount of moolah, self-built all the way.

If you are that desperate to be hip and one of "them", go with a Mac.

I don't particularly care for lights on the PC. I tend to keep the PC powered up for weeks without a reboot, and too many blinkenlights on it are annoying when you're trying to fall sleep.
Also, it's not like it takes long to put up, even at a very leisurely pace you're looking at 3 hours tops, possibly under 1 hour if you're really into it. Compared to the next 2 days of getting all the software/drivers/settings just right, it's a drop in the bucket.
Plus you KNOW where everything is, and you mount it the way YOU like it to be, not how some random minimum-wage guy employed by alienware in the USA thought it's good enough to put together (I'd trust sweatshop workers' work more).
I'm a proactive lazy person - I want to afford to be as lazy as possible in the future, so passing on a bit of current laziness for a lot more later lack of corrective work is what I love. If you want it done right, do it yourself. Then you don't have to spend even more time later fixing it.

I thought they were assembled in Ireland? That would account for the shoddy craftsmanship P
